If God's word is law, then isn't a new Testament redundant? Wouldn't his laws, being able to see into the future and all, be able to be maintained throughout all time? If a change happens it means god reconsidered an idea, which is strange as he is infallable. The point being he wouldn't have to had changed any rules they would have been put in place to work no matter what.
