@Page I learned in my boyfriend's (now hubby) '55 Ford (a standard, also). It was great fun. He'd take me to the riverside to drive in the sand and let me pop the clutch and goose it.
Once I goosed it a bit too much, going from bedrock to sand and spun around, headed for the treeline and ended up practically climbing a big one.

@Agent 34 I bet that scared the s^%$ out of you!!! I love driving a clutch still to this day. This spoiled lifeguard at the club who is 16 is driving a brand new mustang with straight drive. He let me drive it - of course I had to slide the seat back because he is shorter than me! A lot of muscle.....too much power for a kid who looks like he stars in a toothpaste ad with the sparkle on the tooth!
