collective identity needs to be tmepered with individualism or you get the problem of china where they don't develop or invent their own technology and are dependent on stealing from other nations

2018-09-16 22:10:29 UTC

No ideology sides maybe egoism is entirely individualist or collectivist

2018-09-16 22:10:33 UTC

A meritocracy of separate collectivisms defined as "nations"

2018-09-16 22:10:37 UTC

they all just have a lean

2018-09-16 22:10:46 UTC

Pretty sure communism leans to collective

2018-09-16 22:10:48 UTC

Communism is entirely collectivist

2018-09-16 22:10:54 UTC

^^

2018-09-16 22:10:57 UTC

Libertarianism is almost entirely individualist

2018-09-16 22:11:02 UTC

^^

2018-09-16 22:11:03 UTC

you could debate that

2018-09-16 22:11:10 UTC

communism denies hiearchy is egalitarian it rejects the tribalist collectivism nations stem from

2018-09-16 22:11:14 UTC

but it's very close to "I will do anything I want cause I can"

2018-09-16 22:11:32 UTC

I'm not saying actual communism can ever be achieved; it cannot

2018-09-16 22:11:34 UTC

Communism and Fascism are two different kinds of collectivism

2018-09-16 22:11:38 UTC

but people are dumb enough to try it

2018-09-16 22:11:50 UTC

Communism wants gender and racial equality and a denial of hiearchy

2018-09-16 22:11:51 UTC

same goes for total individualism

2018-09-16 22:12:00 UTC

while fascism wants a complete hiearchy

2018-09-16 22:12:18 UTC

again, communism ideally is total collectivism

2018-09-16 22:12:36 UTC

well, those it considers in its collective

2018-09-16 22:12:36 UTC

Fascism is not, but it recognizes the importance of components involving collective effort

2018-09-16 22:12:54 UTC

considering rich people in your own nation aren't part of the collective lmao

2018-09-16 22:13:54 UTC

Fascism is based on the organic reality of a nation state and the reality of a class based meritocracy within such a collective. These collectives themselves are divided in the world, hence, multiple conflicting and independent nations.

2018-09-16 22:14:32 UTC

and I think that's an accurate understanding of macro human social relations

2018-09-16 22:15:49 UTC

agreed

2018-09-17 22:47:53 UTC

@everyone Daily Questionđź”–

Do you see Transhumanism overall as a benefit or detriment to humanity and why?

2018-09-17 22:48:08 UTC

Detriment. We'll lose our soul if we become machines.

2018-09-17 22:48:14 UTC

well

2018-09-17 22:48:16 UTC
2018-09-17 22:48:20 UTC

That's quite a broad question

2018-09-17 22:48:20 UTC

define transhumanism

2018-09-17 22:48:29 UTC

^

2018-09-17 22:48:38 UTC

Transhumanism? More like autism

2018-09-17 22:48:38 UTC

So broad

2018-09-17 22:48:50 UTC

detriment, b/c it will become a slippery slope to losing our humanity

2018-09-17 22:48:54 UTC

Are heart monitors transhumanist?

2018-09-17 22:49:08 UTC

Are fitwatches transhumanist

2018-09-17 22:49:30 UTC

Transhumanism as in things like genetic engineering, advanced prosthetics, nanomachines, etc

2018-09-17 22:49:36 UTC

Hmmmmmmmmm

2018-09-17 22:49:40 UTC

2018-09-17 22:49:45 UTC

depends how we use it
