@Summī Imperator, 呪い殿 I want it to be abolished, but slowly over time
I think more oversight is needed if we have them
"Please take my money and make tanks while everything else goes to absolute shit"
None of this honour system nonsense.
Yeah, because paying for the military is funding jobs
lol
"Did you go looking for work this week?"
"Yes."
"okay, here's your handout."
@Summī Imperator, 呪い殿 that should be the very least
And the military isn't always spending where you think
A lot of it goes to frivolous nonsensical things.
when I got unemployment it came from a pool I had paid into when I had a job and honestly it was barely enough to cover anything @Summī Imperator, 呪い殿
like $800 a month
that's peanuts
The problem with welfare (at least in America) is that you're punished for actually getting a job, because in a lot of cases your effective income will be diminished
Okay, and did it keep you afloat?
Did you starve to death?
Did you lose all ability to house yourself?
Welfare is a handicap.
Something you use to get yourself on your feet.
if you want to
You shouldn't try to live off of what the government gives you.
It's so little.
and it's not like it was a lot
I'd rather let you starve to death than let the goberment get involved
and I'm 100% serious
Or Y'know.
That's not welfare, that's employment insurance.
Instead of trying to find food you should try to find a job.
Something you can only get if you have worked over a certain number of hours
I think if cities want that sort of thing they need to be willing to pay it themselves. So if a city wants Welfare, they need to pay it out of their own budget.
That would give people a measure for how unsustainable it is.
I'm personally in favor of giving the taxpayers more control over how their money is allocated. That way, they'd have to sell the idea to us.
mfw @Milk is forced to accept handouts via pandhandling when whatever job he has becomes automated <:HyperLmao:459545665517780993>
@Milk while I technically agree, I believe that is less likely to happen once we move to private charity
I'm not going to comment
I hate debates about automation
why because it's a real issue
It isn't
go away
Lol
