Yes the country should come before the individual, but the government shouldn’t needlessly revoke some liberties to benefit individuals.

2018-12-10 23:57:41 UTC

I mean during certain situations, like a Homeland invasion, it'd make sense to revoke nearly all rights including trial, speech, press, in order to facilitate a victory

2018-12-10 23:59:09 UTC

Of course at that point no one would give a hoot if your neighbour gets to keep there gun if they are sympathizing with an invading force.

2018-12-11 00:00:11 UTC

Personally I think drug dealers need to be suspended their right to trial

2018-12-11 00:00:23 UTC

And suppliers

2018-12-11 00:35:38 UTC

That is a good idea, but would this extend to non-lethal drugs?

2018-12-11 06:14:24 UTC

We give up our right to smuggle explosives in our luggage, while also giving up our rights to our full body scans. As to what the hell the TSA uses our full body scans for, one can only imagine. It may or may not be used for research purposes.

As for full body scans fuck them

And only to the extent of how servere the crime is.

2018-12-11 19:51:32 UTC

Interesting question. If the crime necessitates someone being taken into custody, obviously it would be the person who committed the crime. If it's a crime that causes financial harm then obviously the parent would pay, unless their child is working.

Generally though, I dislike punishing people by putting them in cages and would rather them pay for most crimes via fines to the victims.
