Voting isn't a right. The fact we treat it as such is our problem
They have lost the will to live as a civilization
So... Either we accept the rule of nobility, and inheritance, or we give people the vote.
And that was like...
They view replacement by non whites and their impending minority status as a moral crusade
Maybe a few thousand people.
Over millions.
Same issue as anything.
You can have nobility and voting, mixed government
This is their ultimate calling in life they think they're being heroes
Okay...
But how do you decide who gets to vote?
By...
We're jumping between a lot of topics
Inheritance.
?
I get lost a lot.
I'm not sure how it goes so far off track.
I just want answers.
Land owners, those who aren't a negative contributors into the system
First of all people give voting too much credit. Don't be fooled, voting means far less than you think
And if I get them, I'm happy enough.
Okay, but how did those people get the land?
Usually by...
Inheritance.
?
Not necessarily
It's mostly a token gesture given by the elites to the masses to pacify them
So if you vote in one leader that is a different faction from the nobility, what do you think will happen?
Imo land ownership should be restricted to citizens
They'll split.
If push comes to shove and the elites reject the masses desires the elites will make sure it never comes to it's fruition
And you'll have the same issue.
@Summī Imperator, 呪い殿 what are you talking about?
There are all kinds of tricks and behind the scenes ways of manipulating "democracy"
Well, in a mixed government, you have inherited titles, and you have people who are voted in by the civilians.
How do you keep the power balance?
@Snakeisninja yeah, voting should really be restricted in scope. To seem as meaningless as it really is
Even if every official position is filled by someone who wants X agenda, there are unofficial positions too and those are firmly in the hands of elites
How do you force both parties to honour one another's power?
The $ for example, campaigns are financed by donors
