I will repeat myself

2018-11-25 18:12:55 UTC

Were there any Church Fathers who said you cannot love your wife above your other brothers in Christ?

2018-11-25 18:13:00 UTC

It's incredibly foolish to help others abroad when you have millions suffering right next to you

2018-11-25 18:13:42 UTC

You internationally work together to help all who need it

2018-11-25 18:13:48 UTC

gee

2018-11-25 18:13:51 UTC

@Vilhelmsson I don't get what you're saying, but according to mr.pebble it's a sin to love your wife more than a migrant 15000 km away

2018-11-25 18:14:02 UTC

what

2018-11-25 18:14:09 UTC

Favoritism

2018-11-25 18:14:10 UTC

the bible specifically talks about how to treat your wife

2018-11-25 18:14:20 UTC

With kindness

2018-11-25 18:14:27 UTC

As if does your neighbor

2018-11-25 18:14:30 UTC

Kindness

2018-11-25 18:14:39 UTC

Yes, but to show partiality towards her is a transgression, is it not?

2018-11-25 18:14:53 UTC

do you know what partiality is based on

2018-11-25 18:15:03 UTC

To value her above others.

2018-11-25 18:15:13 UTC

no, to discriminate against for immutable traits you judge as wrong

2018-11-25 18:15:28 UTC

that are present in other churchgoers

2018-11-25 18:15:46 UTC

Define "discriminate "

2018-11-25 18:16:17 UTC

you know what it means

2018-11-25 18:16:32 UTC

if a black person walks in , a poor person walks in, a dirty person walks in

2018-11-25 18:16:45 UTC

i cannot discriminate against them

2018-11-25 18:16:50 UTC

i cannot be partial

2018-11-25 18:16:53 UTC

for they are my coheir in christ

2018-11-25 18:18:05 UTC

christianity is inherently internationalist

2018-11-25 18:18:19 UTC

cooperative on a global level

2018-11-25 18:18:50 UTC

attending to the impracticality of reach with cooperating with distant powers

2018-11-25 18:19:54 UTC

You need to be smart about it tho

2018-11-25 18:19:57 UTC

For example

2018-11-25 18:20:03 UTC

Foreign Aid doesn't help

2018-11-25 18:20:13 UTC

Rarely if ever does it help

2018-11-25 18:27:54 UTC

not the way its handled no it doesnt help

2018-11-25 18:30:05 UTC

The issue I find is that, since the wife or family member, your born parents are given different status due to immutable virtues that they posess, beign your wife, your parents, and you cna discriminate based on this in favor of them. Then the same applies the farther we distance ourselves from that nucleus. Essentially creating a massive extended family where the importance of people gts lesser. the issue is that through discrimination i do not place lesser value on someones life, however rather it applies to their worth towards you and your group. God does not forbid us from creating nations and working in such a way, god did not create us with in group bias so that we could simply throw that away.

The church might be international however why should its doctrines apply to the people to force them into misery because they cannot discrimiante and form an enviorment that is best for them? By forcing people to not discriminate we inevitably lower the enviorment for everyone and deny people the right to say who they want to live next to. This is a false sense of equality of worth. All life is equally valuable however not all life is equally worthy to each member withing a group.

If christianity is intimately tied to such cuckery then its fall is inevitable, and the euro countries will necessarily regress towards something that is more bound in reason and allows for them to survive, to exist. God did not deny man to create boarders or to lock his house. He did not deny man the right to discriminate on immutable characteristics because these characteristics are part of any persons character. However in the end we will all go and god will accept us for he is god (different matter entirely if people accept him)

(NOTE: I am not a practicing catholic, however i have read a great deal about death, i study and work near death constantly, and from my personal research and observations my conclusions are simply different. However I was baptised and am catholic, however currently im in a bit of a vaccume on orthodoxy vs. catholicism)

Any idea how the orthodox approach this question?

The reason we honor our parents and elders moreso is the natural order that God created and instructed, not an isolated instance of inequality that we can apply through our own made up strata

2018-11-25 18:35:12 UTC

i do not argue on a theocratic basis but through the workings of the church

2018-11-25 18:35:42 UTC

and a Christian's relation and valuing of what its nation does in comparison to the church

2018-11-25 18:36:38 UTC

oh

2018-11-25 18:37:01 UTC

in my mind

2018-11-25 18:37:08 UTC

you should be most loyal to your parents

2018-11-25 18:37:14 UTC

than to any other person

2018-11-25 18:37:19 UTC

because without your parents and god
