Both are games worth playing

Sea of theives would be fucking 10/10 if there were more ships/players per map

2018-09-16 06:08:18 UTC

regarding <#479347111775830017>, does anyone know what's the difference between a classical republic and a modern one?

2018-09-16 06:14:21 UTC

@Doctor Anon or more players per ship

2018-09-16 06:53:27 UTC

It’s just not the same without zexy to torment

2018-09-16 07:12:28 UTC

@grilomoto a modern republic basically means a representative democracy. Classical Republic means a mixed government, especially one that incorporates some form of all three types of governance: monarchy/dictator, aristocracy/oligarchy, and democracy.

2018-09-16 07:13:34 UTC

The USA under the constitution was designed in the form of a classical republic, but has since moved to a modern republic

2018-09-16 07:14:43 UTC

Modern Republics are cancer and lead to leftism and the degeneration of society

2018-09-16 07:16:29 UTC

Classical republics are effective at preserving a nation until they compromise one of their core founding principles.

2018-09-16 07:17:24 UTC

👌 thank you

2018-09-16 13:02:05 UTC

Basically, he has a rose-coloured view of a Classical Republic, one that is referred to by the Romans as being great, but we forget ourselves, that the Roman Empire fell because the Nobility and Civilian governments couldn't get along, the Senate worked against each other, and everyone forgot about the people of the empire. Then the last emperor was killed by a "Barbarian" and they Senate fell apart, power struggles, etc. Then it collapsed.

2018-09-16 16:35:44 UTC

@Summī Imperator, 呪い殿 your entire criticism is invalid since you are conflating the empire with the republic. By the time of the empire they had already compromised on core founding principles. So thank you for giving an example of what I was trying to say.

2018-09-16 20:23:04 UTC

Sooooo... It still failed, and that's all I said. Regardless of what you think you're saying, or what I'm saying, it still fell apart. That's the unbiased truth. The Roman Empire fell.

2018-09-16 20:32:29 UTC

empire, not republic

2018-09-16 20:33:01 UTC

big difference between the two

2018-09-16 20:35:01 UTC

So you're saying that they should have just stayed in their country?

2018-09-16 20:35:47 UTC

no, the republic had conquered foreign nations

2018-09-16 20:36:04 UTC

Then it was an Empire.

2018-09-16 20:36:13 UTC

the empire was a different form of governance

2018-09-16 20:36:23 UTC

it had an emperor

2018-09-16 20:37:31 UTC

this is just historical illiteracy. The time period known as the roman empire is distinct from the republic

2018-09-16 20:39:58 UTC

So you glorify the breaking of tradition and overthrow of the Monarchy in order to become the Republic?

2018-09-16 20:40:56 UTC

And that only lasted few centuries.

2018-09-16 20:52:33 UTC

@Summī Imperator, 呪い殿 that has nothing to do with what i said
