and it depends what countries in the middle east

2018-12-12 18:31:23 UTC

@Lola thats like saying Bush didn't go to war

2018-12-12 18:31:27 UTC

it was his AdMiN

2018-12-12 18:32:30 UTC

China's strategy is just much more appealing

2018-12-12 18:32:50 UTC

they are doing to africa and the middle east what the US did to europe after ww2

2018-12-12 18:33:10 UTC

but i'd argue even better, because they are essentially not losing anything

2018-12-12 18:33:31 UTC

Again China's military is incompetent

2018-12-12 18:33:41 UTC

it's not about military dude

2018-12-12 18:33:43 UTC

their allies aren't very competent too

2018-12-12 18:33:46 UTC

then what is it about?

2018-12-12 18:33:54 UTC

it's about soft power and economic leverage

2018-12-12 18:33:56 UTC

I know most people would side with a free nation of an authoritarian one

2018-12-12 18:34:08 UTC

thats not at all like that lol

2018-12-12 18:34:12 UTC

So how would that take US' place?

2018-12-12 18:35:06 UTC

@sɪᴅɪsɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀᴇ it's very unlikely but the administration still could've passed it without Obama knowing

2018-12-12 18:35:51 UTC

these countries like ethiopia, Iran, Pakistan, etc which have very strategic value in Geopolitics, find it much more valueable to side with a country that invests in their economy than to side with a country that has a recent history of invading whoever doesnt side with them

2018-12-12 18:37:18 UTC

If you tell me that he did it it will be the same as if you send someone to death sentence without enough evidence

2018-12-12 18:37:19 UTC

Chinese banks loan money to these poor countries to invest in infrastructure » these countries use these loans to pay chinese companies to build infrastructure in said country » these countries then cant pay back the loan so they sell the newly built infrastructure to another chinese company. all the while the chinese government owning or partially owning the said companies

2018-12-12 18:39:05 UTC

and what happens is that a lot of countries end up selling out core industries to the country's sovereignty to a chinese firms, and effectively become puppets of the chinese state

2018-12-12 18:39:46 UTC

and internationally, whenever a crisis shows up they will side with china, otherwise their electricity is cut/ their trains stop working/ their ports are closed

2018-12-12 18:39:53 UTC

"it's very unlikely but the administration still could've passed it without Obama knowing"

2018-12-12 18:39:57 UTC

they would have to let Obama know

2018-12-12 18:39:59 UTC

Obama runs the whole thing

2018-12-12 18:40:15 UTC

That doesn't mean it would replace US @Similar Scowl

2018-12-12 18:40:17 UTC

in any way

2018-12-12 18:40:31 UTC

it would replace the US in terms of global influence

2018-12-12 18:40:48 UTC

and they are already surpassing the US in economic terms

2018-12-12 18:41:17 UTC

although trump has made the US economy grow faster

2018-12-12 18:41:22 UTC

They can still pass it without him knowing, I can also lend something from you without asking your permission

2018-12-12 18:41:33 UTC

it's not clear that this is a trend or just an isolated event

2018-12-12 18:41:40 UTC

"and they are already surpassing the US in economic terms" Barely

2018-12-12 18:41:46 UTC

Chinese GDP PPP per capita is around 14k

2018-12-12 18:41:47 UTC

or less

2018-12-12 18:41:52 UTC

for now

2018-12-12 18:41:52 UTC

2018-12-12 18:41:57 UTC

2018-12-12 18:42:00 UTC
