ye then you would be right
@Similar Scowl what was about Obama then?
How did you draw that conclusion
@unit so you mean like, if country A's government criticizes B's government, government B's should prohibit A's citizens from entering the country?
just to clarify
He does
He doesn't understand why they would allow that
@Lola ah, I think it means we probably won't have much to do with each other.. @Similar Scowl yup
@sɪᴅɪsɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀᴇ Obama just continued the foreign policy from previous administrations. foreign policy in the US tends to remain consistent regardless of dems or GOP in power. the opposite happens in domestic affaris
the last time the US formally declared war on a country was during ww2
Tourism plays a big role in the economy of a lot of countries
because declaring war is prohibited by the UN charter. so countries just go around it and dont declare war
Continuing foreign policy from previous admins doesn't make it okay
And us declared war with Iraq
Why would they put that source of income away
i never said it was ethical or morally correct
I'm saying it was a bad policy
He illegally started a war
illegally as in no congressional approval
Libya and Syria
first of all, the US didnt start a war in libya or syria, the US isnt at war with syria or lybia, but has carried out operations in both countries and supplied sides in conflicts in these countries @sɪᴅɪsɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀᴇ
@unit can you explain to me what for you makes it viable for a country to deny tourism
it sounds like semantics but in IR it matters a lot
@Similar Scowl yes
"intervention"
which was
illegal
is it illegal to sponsor belligerants in wars abroad?
he didn't "sponsor"
(it's not)
give me a specific example so we can actually get to the details and i can be more useful to the conversation
@Lola probably not, they got these things called consulate offices in each other's countries, y'know? Like how Assange is hiding out in one of 'em.. but hey, someone makes a few shekels along the way so it's all good
@sɪᴅɪsɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀᴇ so you want to focus on libya?
we can do that
And Syria
both were illegal wars
one at the time perhaps?
How can you not explain your point to me
