When I hear village I think of huts and tribes

Because they are villages, towns are bigger and cities need a royal charter to be considered such

I'm from a town of 15,000, largest in my county, a nearby village has 800 people in its centre and surroundings

We have towns with a 1000 and less all over the place

But we never called them that

A village would have a primary school and a grocery shop, a nearby town would have the secondary schools and supermarkets, if that's any help
