They voted for him because he was the epitome of change, the outsider of the race, who was promising things mainstream Republicans shied away from
Because Trump outperformed Romney in the other 3
like immigration crackdowns and building a wall
Romney would've won the Mississippi River and Rust Belt if he got a higher share of the White vote
He lacked the fighting spirit that Trump had
He came off as too much of a tool
Romney's immigration policy actually wasn't that bad
The problem was his milquetoast character
