This is the thing, it's not the start of a war, we've seen this play out multiple times. The way you get a favorable deal with countries like NK or Iran isn't by groveling but by posturing, and being tough. I get that Israel is a big part of the equation when it comes to this, but we shouldn't be excusing stuff like "Death to America" just to spite Israel. How we get a deal is not by making the concessions and giving them everything they want because "UHHH THEY ONLY BURN THE AMERICAN FLAG BECAUSE ISRAEL", but by being tough and making our adversaries more afraid of us than we are of them. We've seen the same shit with NK, just a couple days after the "I have a bigger button than you", we found out that NK and SK were starting talks. This is about prestige, respect. The idea that we don't put up with foreigners fucking with us. If we let Iran slide, that could tell countries like NK that they can get away with it too. Doesn't work out like that, we have to give a consistent, strong message. To have peace in the middle east, we need to have a good deal with the Iranians. If we can get them to the table with leverage, we can get denuclearization with hard oversight and which is irreversible, we can get their missile program stopped, get their funding to groups like the Taliban halted, and settle these sorts of proxy wars that have been building up in the middle east between Iran and Israel/Saudi Arabia including the Syrian Civil War. Now while for some, nothing except settling Syria sounds interesting, but this kind of optics payoff with negotiations plays very well with approval to the general American public. To get a favorable deal with the Iranians, we have to exert pressure and make them deal with us, that is by starving them with sanctions and making these kind of fire and fury threats. I know that the rhetoric may sound too trigger-happy, but at the end of the day, it's rhetoric, we have to look deeper and see the purpose that it serves.
Sorry for the text wall btw, but the bottom line is: Tough rhetoric ≠ War.

<@&414480285930094592> one of the lefties in the PredictIt comments section said this
"Saying you have a truck for "picking up illegals" is actually literally illegal and I think quite grotesque.
Cagle was the establishment candidate and could've beaten Abrams. But Her "New Georgia Project" could yield presidential turnout, and she'll get away with running a fear-mongering campaign if Kemp stays far-right.
Hillary got 1.8 million votes in Georgia. Deal only got 1.3 million in the last midterm, 2014. So if we consider a slightly reduced turnout on both sides, Abrams could win with a healthy turnout of 1.4 million, nearly presidential level, while Kemp would get a typical midterm turnout of 1.2-1.3. Its tricky but I think it's the perfect storm for Abrams."

I'm definitely going to be looking at those same PredictIt faggots' comments once Nov 6 rolls around
