We have to hope Trump buries the hatchet on the trade war soon enough before the elections and we get the Chinese, Canadians, and Europeans to submit to a deal, and also for NK and Iran to accept a peace deal. Those are things Trump can easily win given enough time, but if these countries don't submit soon enough, it could fuck up the midterms, maybe they're waiting him out. Our hope is things are dire enough with them, Trump is bleeding China out, if he can get them to say uncle, we get a hopeful trade deal where they drop their tariffs and a solution to NK may not be far behind.

Our issue is that we can beat out our enemies, but the democratic system makes it so that good decisions made by a leader are constantly snipped at the heels by our political enemies, that's the big advantage these countries have over us. There's a lot Trump can do executively to make these countries feel economic pain, but if countries like China try to wait it out and bleed for a bit instead of getting a way out sooner, they could do a lot of damage to Trump who's been their biggest stumbling block in centuries.
