Military record

2018-08-03 20:55:50 UTC

Supports the wall

2018-08-03 20:55:53 UTC

Pretty young

2018-08-03 20:55:55 UTC

Wisconsin:
Senate 18-15 (R) [R from 2003-2006, D from 2007-2010, R from 2011-2013)
House 64-35 (R) [R from 1995-2008, D from 2009-2010, back to R in 2011)

2018-08-03 20:56:23 UTC

I hate when candidates flex about their military background

2018-08-03 20:56:40 UTC

You a commie or something?

2018-08-03 20:56:53 UTC

No I just don't like it

2018-08-03 20:57:06 UTC

It's just good optics.

2018-08-03 20:57:39 UTC

What makes you special to go and preach about it

2018-08-03 20:57:42 UTC

It may annoy you but it has a very strong impression on most people

2018-08-03 20:57:48 UTC

Eh

2018-08-03 20:57:55 UTC

In the US, lots of people care about vets, that's the thing

2018-08-03 20:58:08 UTC

Pennsylvania:
Senate 33-16 (R) [R since 1994]
House 121-82 (R) [R since 2011]

2018-08-03 20:58:14 UTC

People will probably care more about him supporting Trump than his Military background

2018-08-03 20:58:21 UTC

"You serve the country on the battlefield, then you serve in politics"

2018-08-03 20:58:25 UTC

That kind of deal

2018-08-03 20:58:32 UTC

That is fine

2018-08-03 20:58:46 UTC

But when people use it as an argument, it's fucking queer

2018-08-03 20:59:02 UTC

People respect a candidate more if they are a veteran, it can only be a positive.

2018-08-03 20:59:19 UTC

Unless you raped kids in Iraq or something, but that's besides the point.

2018-08-03 20:59:21 UTC

You got to push your strengths, I see nothing wrong with it

2018-08-03 21:00:21 UTC

We're facing against a career politician that's been rotting in the government for decades, a young vet outsider is a good match against that.

2018-08-03 21:00:48 UTC

And Black, gotta get that in-group preference vote.

2018-08-03 21:01:32 UTC

Like @FLanon said, whites are a LOT less tribal when voting by race of the candidate than minorities are voting for whites.

2018-08-03 21:04:02 UTC

Yeah I think it'll be an interesting experiment to see how he does in Michigan. Getting a sizable enough portion of the vote with the blacks, which are the main bulk of the dems now alongside your normal rural white voters will be a big boon for winning the seat.

2018-08-03 21:04:44 UTC

Who is he even running against?

2018-08-03 21:04:56 UTC

whites don't really mind voting for blacks

2018-08-03 21:05:05 UTC

Debbie Stabenow

2018-08-03 21:05:06 UTC

99.99999999999% of voters in Michigan are not like Button fag

2018-08-03 21:05:58 UTC

Michigan is also 75% White and 14% Black.

2018-08-03 21:06:10 UTC

Voter Demographics-wise tho.

2018-08-03 21:06:22 UTC

Yeah.

2018-08-03 21:06:39 UTC

@ThatRightWingFish your projecting your priorities on everyone else

2018-08-03 21:06:48 UTC

The main bulk of the dem vote are in the cities

2018-08-03 21:06:53 UTC

Mainly blacks

2018-08-03 21:06:55 UTC

Michigan: Whites are 81% of the voters while Blacks are 13% of the voters.

2018-08-03 21:06:57 UTC

the vast, vast, vast majority of voters aren't going to refuse to vote for John James because he's black

2018-08-03 21:07:26 UTC

I guarantee you that no one is going to think "John James is a negro so let me vote for Debbie Stabenow"

2018-08-03 21:07:30 UTC

We won't win the majority of those voters of course, but we can depress turnout for Stabenow and make our margins good enough for victory.

2018-08-03 21:12:21 UTC

John James, the Republican Senate candidate in Michigan, has a white wife.
