And yes, field stabilization is a thing. Correct me if I’m wrong, but couldn’t you stabilize a casualty with TXA for a while as long as HEMCON is maintained and be able to wait a good while until EVAC?
> I'm taking the initiative to start a prolonged field care and disease prevention thread. You're no good at any level if you're ridden with disease and your feet are fucked up lol
@RaginMedic23
I’m fine with learning about infections and the like. One damn thing people seem to overlook is preventing that shit from ever happening. Change socks every single time they get wet, maintain proper hygiene.
Facts. I'm going to pitch adding a new channel. But the information comes from links with credible sources only
AMEDD, JEMS, ETC
Pushing anti-biotics can easily kill people so be careful
How about we make a separate medical server where we can all post evidence based medicine and discuss it all?
And then publish findings that would be useful?
I think it would be a good start in getting our medical shit together.
@[LA] Zoomer Medi/k/ txa isn't a cure all. Its a short short fix. We're talking 10/15 min tops
I'm a paramedic on a public service, did a handful of years private. Ran around one of our major cities. That's where I had my teeth cut on my trauma. Medical is 90% of my job.
Another server would be cool.
This is why we check our gear. Left NS thats gtg. Right, NS thats expired and cloudy

@Thorne
That’s why I asked.
right I'm not bitchin, just laying it out there
Thank you.
Hey guys, I spent a short time as a Certified Surgical Technologist. Going to start browsing through here. Just thought I would say hi.
Welcome. What kind of experience do you have as a CST? Any Ortho or Lvl 1 trauma?
Alright I think I might start a server for this.
So all of us can congregate.
Give me a little while to set things up and I’ll drop the invite.
If you treat animals, is anyone gonna take it personally when you put their stitches in? Promise to leave the balls and no one gets an E-collar
🤣🤣
I did Ortho in Tulsa for a year. Been like 9 years though.
Worked a critical hospital in Wyoming for 3 months, but didn't have enough experience to stay. Nothing like an emergency C Section at 3am in your PJ's
I need to learn how to stitch people. I've stapled animals from here to kingdom come, but never used a needle
Did some of that, surprisingly not that hard. Right tools help.
@Hopefully Heroic True. Try it with none of the right tools and it’s pretty hard
Word. Needles and latex and blood is a slippery mess.
Who here wants to help make that medical server?
I’d be happy to input my experiences and knowledge, but I’m not strictly speaking a medical professional
I’m really just worried about the structure and organization of it.
I have not created a discord before and only online by phone means.
Alright
I’m an admin on like 6 or 7 discords @[LA] Zoomer Medi/k/ I’m fairly fluent in setting them up
Not sure what we need to have
Basics. Just make a spot. Make yourself admin. And collect medical peeps.
Select a few you want running the show or throwing out scenarios then go from there.
Would the medical bois like their own category? This would allow for several medical channels.
I made a server.
Could I join to learn. I don’t say much but I pay attention and read most of what’s going on
