Whos all my medics here

@[TX]YimYam yes same amount of time for different pay but its also a different skillet.

I'm lucky enough to make more than a nurse but my positions are far and few between

This for the reporting people bull?

@[LA] Zoomer Medi/k/ got some questions about your pack setup boss.

Quick clot. Is it really suggested that people who may not be trained to use that. Its my understanding that both using it in the wrong places is counterproductive and using it can cause chemical burns for added problems later.

Secondly. Again just from my own experience. Trauma sheers no matter how expensive are all shit or get left everywhere. Probably better to buy in bulk and keep one or two on you rather than a "nice" set.

Thirdly, assuming we use the windlass only tqs?

Lastly. For...... combat.... situations. Has there been thought about establishing or organizing generic SOPs

I've never used a ratcheting tq yet. I'm not a fan of the constricting band ones that came out not terribly long ago. My understanding is they were proven ineffective anyway.

Shouldn't really even be sold imo but that's just me.

The whole nerve damage is kinda offset by the fact they don't work

If it doesn't accomplish the goal AND makes it worse then we'll.

Anyways. Was just curious.

Just wanted to know who I was dealing with.

@Young Spaghetti it would be decent information.

@Potion Seller theres still a medical glue used to seal some stuff, seen it used a few times. as for if its super glue I dont know and it wouldn't really be a replacement for stitches if you're asking.

@Young Spaghetti I would look for a stop the bleed class of some sort to at least get some hands on. I dont know what area you're in but if you happen to be nearish to a medical college sometimes they have a class for relatively cheap to learn advanced skills. For example, for $150 theres a college near me that lets you practice surgical crics on cadavers.

Again who here is a Practicing medic?

Initially taking a care point and command would be important. I cant take any of this seriously unless there's a full thought plan.

Its not only combat injuries that would take people out. Talking about combat requires total thought of care from point of contact to recovery

What about medical emergencies? This isn't only about trauma.

Bullet holes are bullet holes.

If you're going to try and take me to a vet to stitch me up after I get shot in the leg. Fat chance.

1. Pain meds. Absolutely important.

2. Antibiotics for infections

Okay. Yeah. Drugs have to come from somewhere. For small amounts pencil whipping works.

Deep surgical things would need more than a vet imo

surgery in general shouldn't be left to a vet, again, imo

I like where you're taking it but we honestly need a few committees.

Do we have any central hubs?

I guess what we could do is kind of organize a network. Or a framework really

The worst part is there's no real way to identify. Or we don't want to do it on a public server.

Discussions that need to happen in private and/or on voice.

Never used or heard of it before. But I'm down for it.

@[LA] Zoomer Medi/k/ txa isn't a cure all. Its a short short fix. We're talking 10/15 min tops

I'm a paramedic on a public service, did a handful of years private. Ran around one of our major cities. That's where I had my teeth cut on my trauma. Medical is 90% of my job.

Sure. Again. Needs to be one of my days off.

right I'm not bitchin, just laying it out there

Basics. Just make a spot. Make yourself admin. And collect medical peeps.

Select a few you want running the show or throwing out scenarios then go from there.

Thanks sparrow
