Yeah I haven't shot any of their bullpup but they felt nice in the hands at the gun store
I've both the RFB and RDB. The RFB is fickle but the RDB gives the Tavor a good run for the money.
Hmmm, well. That's good to hear. I'm actually really struggling to decide between a 14.5, 16 or 18 inch barrel for my next build...
I already have a 16, but it's not free float. And I don't have the other lengths
The Tavor is really nice for a Bullpup but the FS2000 was like butter I'd give my left nut to get one
I basically want it to be an loo-tastic rifle
My VZ58 is my freedom keeper that's part of the reason I had left it fairly stock as there is less shit to break or worry about
The Tavor SAR comes in a 16.5" and 18" barrel. The OAL length of the 18" model is 27". The OAL of the RDB is 27.3" with a 17" barrel . You can't SBR with that length of barrel........
True, but I like the AR platform, I'm not a huge fan of bullpups
I have years of experience with an AR, and the manual of arms is second nature to me.
I own an AR only because the asshole sperm donor I am 1/2 of wanted me to have one before he died, so I got a freebie.
Huh, well. That's one way to get a rifle.
A Ruger SR556.
Ahhh, got ya. I haven't touched a Ruger AR... it just seems like an odd company to make ARs
They are a Fudd gun company, which their stuff is good. I guess I just don't trust em to make ARs
The SR series was mid-tier. I like it but ARs have never been my favorite, even if I did get paid to shoot M-16A2s in a younger life.
Haha, I actually ran some old FN M16A2 just a couple months ago at a reflexive fire range.
The bastard still kicks.
I remember first day on the range and my first three shots overlapped high to the left. My DI looked at me and said more of that but in the middle.
Haha, good. I've liked AR platforms forever. Hell, I had a Green Beret CPT compliment my shooting at the reflexive fire. I told him he should see me when I have my personal rifle, hahaha.
Most ruger centerfire is meme tier trash, though I've heard good things about the ruger precision rifle. If you're looking for an all around igloo gun, I'd say a free floated mlok 16" ar with adjustable gas block. If you plan on running a suppressor or just live in a suburban area, maybe an 11.5-12.5 pistol
Already have a 11.5 and I like it. But based out of KY, I need something I can use in both.
I might go for middle ground at do 16"...
What's your area like? I understand Kentucky has some wide spaces and mountains. If you're out away from the city I might even say an 18" wwsd rifle
So I have a variety of small to medium towns around, with wooded areas and some fields in between. And a city less than an hour away
So was thinking a 14.5 carbine, or a 18 SPR
Also, I wanna hear on what people think is more effective. Slick plate carrier and chest rig for more options? Or decked out plate carrier to keep everything together?
Everything together in my opinion
Mission drives gear god damnit
Well Crye, obviously. I'm just curious as to what people think fits their situation.
Hence why I have two gear sets. For two seperate missions.
In a SHTF situation, you’re gonna take twice as long gearing up.
Now, certain situations, I could see concealable armor under a jacket or shirt, but as far as a grab and go scenario, definitely together
While I have a minimalist pc, if shit hits the fan, I don't have time to gear up. If I'm lucky, I can grab a few of the many mags stashed around my house while my rifle is in hand
Grab and go where? Against who? Is this a permissive or non-permissive environment? Do you have logistical support?
Precisely, I'm curious as to where... "go" locations come into play. Do you have a spot in mind for that? Or are you gonna run into the woods?
Also, screw it, opinion/roasts?
Lots of roasts, but at least you have NODs
I’m thinking PC with chest rig.
For civilians, we typically don't have "missions," just reacting in self defense. If you have a mission, you can tailor your kit to it before it starts. Otherwise it's best to look like a normal dude with a concealed holster
You can switch out depending on mission setting.
