Yeah that's a no from me dawg

2020-05-05 01:44:42 UTC

Not getting a Christensen arms

2020-05-05 01:45:35 UTC

Just gonna go with a magpul 700. Maybe some day when I'm good enough with it to warrant it, I'll have a fancy barrel put in like a krieger or something

2020-05-05 01:54:36 UTC

So, SHTF, what to do with guns i can't carry?
I dont wanna leave them puppies, but realistically I could carry a rifle and pistol on me with a backpack on

2020-05-05 01:55:51 UTC

If you have close friends and family who you don't want dying, you could lend them

2020-05-05 02:14:49 UTC

I mean, cache them somewhere real good? Bury them or something?

2020-05-05 03:30:31 UTC

Doing some reading about tikka and it kinda seems you get more for your money than the remington 700 with a decent aftermarket too

2020-05-05 03:31:14 UTC

Tikkas are great rifles from everything I've heard.

2020-05-05 03:31:55 UTC

this has me convinced

2020-05-05 03:32:00 UTC

Remington 700s are overhyped. Everyone wants them because it's what the military adopted, and then their prices raised. Good rifles, but overhyped.

2020-05-05 03:32:15 UTC

If you have the money, Tikka is a good choice.

2020-05-05 03:32:41 UTC

I went with the Mossberg MVP Precision, because it's still sub-MOA and I liked the furniture and stock better than the Ruger Precision.

2020-05-05 03:36:22 UTC

It looks like the tikka t3x is about the same price, sometimes cheaper, but shoots .25-.5 moa

2020-05-05 03:36:31 UTC

with what people seem to say is a better action

2020-05-05 03:36:52 UTC

I may replace the stock later so it's no big deal to me

2020-05-05 03:37:53 UTC

Wait, how much are Tikkas these days?

2020-05-05 03:38:00 UTC

I was used to seeing them for around 2k

2020-05-05 03:38:52 UTC

they have models that are 2k with fancy stocks but the one that the picture above is from costs right at about 1k

2020-05-05 03:39:23 UTC

Oh nice. Yeah, that's a good price.

2020-05-05 03:39:40 UTC

For that kind of MOA that is, haha.

2020-05-05 03:39:57 UTC

but even that is with an upgraded stock. Their cheapest non-lightweight variants run about 800

2020-05-05 03:41:05 UTC

Not bad. Yeah, the MVP Precision is also a .5 MOA gun, but MSRPs around 1400. But you can grab them for around 1Kish.

2020-05-05 03:41:18 UTC

Closer to 1200, but still.

2020-05-05 03:50:51 UTC

mostly factory, minus the rail, scope, and I'm assuming muzzle device

2020-05-05 03:54:40 UTC

Seems like a good deal man.

2020-05-05 03:58:10 UTC

where’s my SOTAR boy

2020-05-05 03:58:23 UTC

Well the Remington 700 is more than that at this point. 80% of precision rifle manufacturers use a modified r700 receiver

2020-05-05 03:58:26 UTC
2020-05-05 03:59:05 UTC

I’m gonna talk to some friends of Chad’s and I’m going to demand he bring me on a date

2020-05-05 03:59:16 UTC

He can gauge my holes

2020-05-05 03:59:24 UTC

😳

2020-05-05 04:02:36 UTC

Dafuq did I just read.

2020-05-05 04:02:52 UTC

And yeah, that's because Remington took their bolt design from the German Mausers

2020-05-05 04:03:47 UTC

thinking about the tikka tx3 ctr. They basically threaded the varmint barrel and called it tactical. Then maybe later on the mdt lss gen two stock looks promising. Under 2 pounds, solid aluminum, and people seem to say good things about it.

2020-05-05 04:03:57 UTC

Ah I mean good companies make it controlled feed and use dual M16 extractors

2020-05-05 04:04:11 UTC

I had an MDT once

2020-05-05 04:04:35 UTC

good or bad?

2020-05-05 04:07:29 UTC

I had the earlier gen with a rather short forearm, I was very impressed with the build quality, I was underwhelmed by the ergonomics. But that was years ago and it appears their stuff is more thought out now, I would get one again.
