JPCs might not fit what he wants exactly though. they're more lightweight and sport a different cumberbund.

Pretty low end for lpvo's but I'd probably suggest the vortex strike eagle 1-6
Just don't go banging it around
Another option is to get a good red dot like aimpoint, then save up for a good flip magnifier like an aimpoint 3x or 6x on a larue mount. You'll get much higher quality that way
