I put together about a $1100 build not including lower since I already have a built one. But that includes BCM CH, aero 16" 1/7 barrel, BCM upper with parts and forward assist, AIM BCG, and BCM 13" mlok rail. And a few other goodies. Should be a fairly solid battle rifle.
Both out of stock on their website atm
@Soulraiser what is costing you 1100 there? Good optic?
I bought my BCM upper from a guy in a Walmart parking lot for 350
That sounds like a decent build @Soulraiser
It's looking like my budget will be $600 or so. Lol. I'm gonna have to scrap getting BCM parts.
For the whole rifle?
Excluding the stripped lower, yes.
☹️
I suggest you save up
Or buy piece by piece
Probably end up building a handgun instead. At least I can get something fully functional at that budget.
If you need it now then sure
.
Or you could buy a police trade in glock and continued saving
Im gonna try and trade my extra 18" upper for a pistol... I only have my p80 g19 right now for pistols.
Can pick up an M&P9 single stack for under $400 and have $200 for ammo...
Single stack 9?
MN requires a permit to buy handguns or "scary assault rifles". I'm not complying with that shit. Luckily shotguns only need the regular NICS check. Building a gun isn't regulated here either.
Ah
Yep. It's looking like that'll be what I get. I originally wanted to build an 80% Sig P320, but that's a few hundred more.
Yeah, @Bogs_Bunny I think you would be better served with a reliable handgun
Question to all you gurus from someone who is still learning.
what do you think I should upgrade on here?
So if you dont have enough gas going from your gas block it wont eject and cause a malfunction.
What happens if you have too much?
increased wear, case head separation possibly
which is an absolute bitch
more recoil
but also more reliable, if you dont overgas it too much
^
Your extractor probably won’t like it
Cam pin definitely won’t
So essentially you want just enough gas for ejection and everything else to work properly and no more.
Gas rings will wear quicker
That’s basically exactly what you want
a little more than necessary for when its dirty
Just enough to cycle reliably
But not removing finish on the brass deflector
Gotcha.
