I need to train.

2020-05-07 21:26:33 UTC

@Soulraiser sounds like you have astigmatism and need to avoide red dots and holosights all together

2020-05-07 21:28:15 UTC

I've never had issues with any other red dots. Just eotech. My vision is actually quite a bit better than average.

2020-05-07 21:31:40 UTC

Thinking I'll just stick to grabbing a vortex spitfire 3x. Price just makes sense and I've had amazing luck with them in the past. I'll just have to mount my irons canted.

2020-05-07 21:37:21 UTC

@Crye_Salesman I feel like an idiot lol yes i zero my red dot and then adjust the magnifier. For some reason I thought we were talking about no matter what you do a magnifier will mess with your zero/poi shift.

Great videos btw

Is Andersons Manufacturing AR15 lowers any good? I got 2 (they were the only ones available i could find)

2020-05-07 21:42:11 UTC

Ooooo... ooooo.. no baby girl what is you doin...

2020-05-07 21:42:27 UTC

👀 that bad?

2020-05-07 21:42:39 UTC

Poverty Pony is known for having issues...

2020-05-07 21:42:51 UTC

🙃 fuk

2020-05-07 21:43:00 UTC

Better than no AR i guess lol

2020-05-07 21:43:12 UTC

Will it go bang and your on a tight budget yes. Are there better options yes

2020-05-07 21:43:17 UTC

Well who knows... you might have gotten okay ones.

2020-05-07 21:43:34 UTC

Their QC is why no one actually recommends them though.

2020-05-07 21:43:41 UTC

I'd take PSA over them any day at this point.

2020-05-07 21:43:42 UTC

As long as it holds I'm good, I can upgrade later

2020-05-07 21:44:03 UTC

Really, the only way to see if they'll last, is take them out and shoot them.

2020-05-07 21:44:12 UTC

If they do okay then, you'll be alright.

2020-05-07 21:44:25 UTC

I mean you could inspect and gauge them first

2020-05-07 21:44:29 UTC

I got 2, lol hopefully ones good lol

2020-05-07 21:44:38 UTC

If you have a friend who has the tools, yeah.

2020-05-07 21:44:50 UTC

Theyre stripped, not 80%

2020-05-07 21:45:04 UTC

Well yeah, that's what we're talking about.

2020-05-07 21:45:32 UTC

You know what though. Honestly, if the dimensions are right... so long as you put decent parts inside. You might actually be alright.

2020-05-07 21:45:57 UTC

The problems will either be spec (things sized wrong) which you could check with some basic hand tools for most of those.
Or metallurgy, which you won’t really know until it breaks, or you see cracks, etc

2020-05-07 21:46:11 UTC

For sure, hoping to get them today if the background check isn't delayed

2020-05-07 21:46:14 UTC

Let's see what kinda metal they use.. To google!

2020-05-07 21:46:54 UTC

Says it's 7075 T6 aluminum

2020-05-07 21:47:04 UTC

7075 T6 aluminum... and they claim it's Mil-spec

2020-05-07 21:47:20 UTC

@Soulraiser vortex has a great warranty . If your looking at other options primary arms also makes great prism scope but that ACSS reticle primary arms uses is 👌

2020-05-07 21:47:36 UTC

7075 aluminium alloy is an aluminium alloy, with zinc as the primary alloying element. It has excellent mechanical properties, and exhibits good ductility, high strength, toughness and good resistance to fatigue. It is more susceptible to embrittlement than many other aluminium alloys because of microsegregation, but has significantly better corrosion resistance than the 2000 alloys. It is one of the most commonly used aluminium alloy for highly stressed structural applications, and has been extensively utilized in aircraft structural parts.

2020-05-07 21:48:05 UTC

You might actually be okay.

2020-05-07 21:48:15 UTC

I would just.... hide the logo. Hahaha

2020-05-07 21:50:33 UTC

I read some reviews on it.. but it was obviously written by a poor. (lol) From what I can find, the stripped lowers don't seem to have any issues.

2020-05-07 21:50:43 UTC

Just fill it with good parts and I think you'll be alright.

2020-05-07 21:53:18 UTC

They had a bad batch back in 2015 apparently. But their newer lowers are okay for the most part from what I keep reading.

2020-05-07 21:53:25 UTC

I have definitely seen *wildly* out of spec Anderson lowers. Like pivot pin holes not even vaguely aligned, receiver extensions threaded completely off center, etc. Now, you could get a good one, and it could run fine for a good while. But just cause it’s stripped and the ‘correct’ material, doesn’t mean they did anything else right

2020-05-07 21:54:49 UTC

@[CA] SoyBoi my biggest recommendation would be to measure things and carefully test fit each part

2020-05-07 21:55:32 UTC

Where can I find the specs? I have the tools to measure but need to know what the right readings are

2020-05-07 21:55:37 UTC

Yeah, all the bad stuff I'm reading about, that you described seem to be from years ago. I can't find anything bad that's new... but they had issues with the roll pins not being the right size, the magazine channels being too thin... And burrs on the machining.

2020-05-07 21:55:55 UTC

But, I haven't seen anything in the recent past.
