Yeah, you shouldn't have an issue. I've used Aero uppers and Faxon barrles for two of my builds.
Technically, I think I've actually used 3 Aero uppers, haha. And then I have 1 Del-ton upper.
The Delton was my first ever rifle purchase though.
I could buy high tier shit piece by piece and have something usable in maybe a couple years. Lol.
Just remember this. Don't worry about paint and colors. Get a good hard finish, sure... But in a real proper situation, you'll be taking a rattle can to that anyways and covering up whatever color it was beneath.
I love the aesthetic of cerakote and rattlecan, so I'm always torn when I build something. My fighting rifle is rattlecanned and I think I did a pretty good job as all the comments on it are something along the lines of "just don't drop it, you'll never find it again" but when I build this bolt gun that I want to, I'm considering cerakote
Ahhh, well if it's a bolt gun. Chances are it's a show piece more than anything. And even if not, you're supposed to be far away. Go for it if that's what you want.
I'd just recommend you get your fighting rifle all settled out before you do the other stuff.
But you already have one, right?
partially because the chassis I'm looking at already comes with fde cerakote
Ahhh, well FDE is always a great base.
11.5, mixture of aero, bcm, larue, fn, g$, and JP
adjustable gas block + jp captured spring, sooo smooth
So a real bastard build, huh? Lol
Gimme a sec, I'll share mine with you. I haven't painted it though.
picked every part with a purpose since I'm a bit of a maximizer. Everything has to be custom to fit what I want
Faxon and Aero parts mostly. It's on a PSA lower, but I had a buddy check it out and fit everything. Also polished the trigger. So I can trust the lower, but I have an Aero lower on standby. Just need to replace the tube on it first.
Love faxon's barrels. I've got one on my other rifle
my 11.5 has a chf chrome lined fn barrel turned down to something similar to faxon's gunner profile, since I wanted it to be basically indestructible
All of my custom rifles have faxon barrels. I have one pistol with a 7" barrel but I can't remember who makes it.
Kinda wanna sell that upper off for parts.
once I get this rifle put together, I'm considering taking it to a local guy in my city who does cerakote and other gunsmithing stuff. Basically saying, here I'd like it in colors that will blend with the environment here in oklahoma, but also an original work of art. Go nuts.
At least I've heard tattoo artists like hearing that sort of thing, so I figure a cerakote artist might like that too.
Thanks for the suggestions to my question earlier. I pretty much match up with the ideas. I do have the joy of being in a state that allows the sale of only a 7 page list of approves firearms so some of your suggestions won't be "possible". Also, I'm more likely to go the prepared, private sale via something armslist like. Just wanted to get input and y'all did not disappoint.
I am disappointed that no one suggested stealing a tactical nuke but I'll get over itπ
Like anyone can find that for under 800
Don't be ridiculous. That's only pulse-grenade level.
How much of an AR-15 is 3d printable? π€
Meh.
Asking the wrong question IMO.
To easy to build a P-80 AR-15. The real question is how easy is it too print other guns that wont be named.
The real answer, is none.
The Pistol Grip, at most.
printed plastic cannot handle the stress or heat of a firearm.
I think we all know what one could 3-D print.
No one say it.
A dildo?
There is a 3d printed AK reciever in the works. I seen the prototype shoot probably about 100 rounds until the was a failure with a custom made extractor that bunged up the bolt
Any good scopes yall reccomend? Ideally higher than x9
How viable would 3d ammo be?
