I did glassblowing for several years and we'd use kevlar sleeves when working with particularly large pieces
Guns take priority over plate carriers I would assume. Right?
If you wanted to wear any armor in the summer, I'd say you'd probably want lighter weight ceramic armor with something like an armorvent slapped on your pc.
Also yeah pc's are near the bottom of the list on priority
Near the bottom? I thought maybe right behind guns, ammo and training would be a good PC.
Carry pistol with a quality concealed kydex holster, ammo and training, medical stuff, a rifle, other general survival things like food and bleach for purifying water, maybe a chest rig for higher level training, then after all of that and probably some other stuff, armor
When determining what equipment you need, you've gotta figure out what the most likely scenarios are. Before all of that, you should really have a fire extinguisher in your house, since in the end it sorta serves the same purpose as any other equipment, keeping you alive and your property protected.
I guess I forgot that not everyone stockpiles food and supplies lol
I have a decent amount, could use more though. I think about 2-3 months worth
maybe longer, it's nutritious but disgusting, so it's only really palatable if I'm really hungry
I have enough rice and beans to survive on for a few months. I will absolutely hate rice after, but I'll live if necessary.
Oh I forgot about my rice lol. Yeah it'd last a good long while
Most of my stock is soylent since it's basically carbs, protein, and vitamins. It tastes like cheerios and protein powder thrown in a blender though
I bought a two year supply of toilet paper back in December cause I had a good deal. Who knew it would become the new gold standard? ๐
I have 15 horse 25 chicken. Fruit and vegetables. Growing And getting two beef cattle that should of already been here. Iโm set on food
Unfortunately I was bitten by a tick that makes me allergic to all mammal meat except for the great apes. So it's pretty much chicken and fish, or cannibalism to get meat lol
Seriously?
Yeah. Before anyone asks, no it's not lyme disease, completely different thing
Great apes?
What concealable low-pro carriers would you guys recommend? Or what have you heard, is good?
Shit I figured you know that one sparrow
weird how many people jump to lyme disease without knowing what it is.
Anyway, it's called an alpha-gal allergy, specifically an allergy to a carbohydrate that's only found in most mammals
I was gooing to tag you in this convo earlier
I knew it wasnโt Lyme because I know a lot of people with that
And Lyme killed my dog
but yeah, humans, gorillas, bonobos, orangutans, chimps, and so on
The allergy only manifests when digested, so it's delayed by about an hour or so. Really shitty when I accidentally eat something I'm not supposed to and don't know it for an hour
Back to armory
Thatโs crazy though
The only decent concealable ones I know of are the spiritus covert and ferro slickster. Might be able to make the jpc work but idk. Also all of those are "concealable" as in, you could probably hide them under a coat.
They make more concealable armor but you're gonna be confined to soft stuff like iiia
Okay yeah, I was thinking that stuff. And I'm talking something that I can wear slick under a coat. And throw a chest rig or velcro mag pouches on if needed.
My ferroro chest rig micro is pretty small. Fits three mags and I could conceal it under a sweatshirt with ease
I can get pics for you if you want when I get home
the overt and covert from spiritus are really about the same size. The only noticeable difference is that the overt has a little molle on the top half
I have a photo I think
And the overt has a zipper for their packs
yeah though you can mix and match front and back plate bags
Oh you talking plate carriers?
I remember finding another covert PC like 2 weeks ago, but can't remember the name.
And yes.
mags may stick out a bit. The lower profile attachment is a plackard, and there's also a chest rig that can be mounted on it if you want an admin pouch
Here's knight with his little carrier
