@spaceplacenta young men's organization for democracy over stupidity.
yeah @spaceplacenta one guy, trouble is he doesnt know he's dead
big guy, texan, you'd like him
It's not even that the audience is not discerning. Everyone I talk to about metal outside this circle KNOWS what is derivative and what not. They just don't care. They genuinely love metal music and seek out the experience of it.
No amount of bullying or rationalization affects them. The standard response is: "yeah that's true, so what, I like it."
I think some people just get off yelling into a void.
the problem is that most "metalheads" in the scene are really just posers
I'm sure they genuinely love the metal experience
I dont begrudge people their simple pleasures
yea, but it incorporates the cancer of metal as well
> slipknot
yeah, that stuff is fine
what @༺པརབྱར།བསངཇ༻ says is fine
IN CONTEXT
obviously they do, but for the wrong reasons
Slipknot is not a cancer I think
this kind of thing, I don't like it
it may be representative of a wider issue
but it's not that big a deal
this stuff is obvious
the problem is "sell in" stuff, stuff that is "true" in attitude but sucks
and is accepted because its true in attitude
and by extension, what doesn't suck either
so bands that do actually succeed end up ignored, because pretty much no one seems to know the difference
I'VE FELT THE HATE RISE UP INME
KNEEL DOWN AND THE CLEAR THE STONE OF LEAVES
I WANDER OUT WHERE YOU CAN'T SEE
Calling people posers really avoids the issue
INSIDE MY SHELL I WAIT AND BLEED
avoids what issue
I'm not calling people posers anyway
Not you
oh sorry
No worries
I've been going to shows, parties with metalheads and volunteering for metal shit for a long time now. These people are genuine.
I mean I do less these days
But
but?
Sorry took a poop
but my experience is definitive
what relevance does that have to the issue
The only time I've ran into posers was at watain/mayhem
