And since Westernism is all about joining the discourse and not asking questions, especially if they are concerned with long term outcomes

2017-04-09 16:50:18 UTC

Then there are apparently no problems

2017-04-09 16:52:32 UTC

People always forget how crazy things the West has performed in it's past

2017-04-09 16:53:02 UTC

For 50 years treatment of psychically ill people all over west was being arranged according to a completely insane theory

2017-04-09 16:53:47 UTC

they were being electrocuted and and psychiatriss all over tried to find out whether you have family inherited incestual sexual envy

2017-04-09 16:58:07 UTC

its not completely insane, that

2017-04-09 16:58:19 UTC

current psychiatry is just as bad really

2017-04-09 16:58:22 UTC

in some ways, worse

2017-04-09 16:58:41 UTC

current psychiatry is only good because it failed, so it doesn't attempt to contribute to the problem

2017-04-09 16:58:53 UTC

well I wont derail you

2017-04-09 16:58:56 UTC

then think about Behaviorism

2017-04-09 16:58:58 UTC

with going down that track

2017-04-09 16:59:27 UTC

It has to be the most stubborn and dogmatical surrender to worship of quantity in western scientific discourse

2017-04-09 17:13:20 UTC

Hey prozak, what are you going to do about the fact that under capitalism everyone has a cost incentive to undercut and to deliver the cheapest, shoddiest product they can get away with? What is your traditionalist capitalism fix for the fact that food companies are incentivized to feed you dyed corn syrup instead of food, because it is vastly cheaper? How will market dynamics plus whatever interventions you propose fix that?

2017-04-09 17:14:11 UTC

you're not accounting for the quality of the product delivered, what people are willing to accept, forces that act to enforce quality etc.

2017-04-09 17:14:16 UTC

why would a traditionalist state regulated by culture etc. not be liable to be sold 10,000 hamburgers that are half soy?

2017-04-09 17:14:21 UTC

de-industrialize food production

2017-04-09 17:14:27 UTC

this produces the motivation in the first place to compete

2017-04-09 17:14:33 UTC

scale down society

2017-04-09 17:14:44 UTC

make things smaller, cleaner

2017-04-09 17:14:49 UTC

yeah, the scale is the issue here, rather than "capitalism"

2017-04-09 17:14:49 UTC

less polluted

2017-04-09 17:14:56 UTC

so kill dalits until society is smaller

2017-04-09 17:14:59 UTC

seems legit

2017-04-09 17:15:07 UTC

you dont need to kill anyone to scale down society

2017-04-09 17:15:12 UTC

okay maybe a few handfuls of people, every now and then

2017-04-09 17:15:26 UTC

boundaries are important

2017-04-09 17:15:40 UTC

you dont need to care who dies or does not die, once you decide who simply *doesn't come in*

2017-04-09 17:15:49 UTC

that's why people invented borders

2017-04-09 17:21:25 UTC

SOME INTERESTING QUESTIONS:

2017-04-09 17:21:55 UTC

"under capitalism everyone has a cost incentive to undercut and to deliver the cheapest, shoddiest product they can get away with?" -- THIS IS CONSUMERISM, NOT CAPITALISM, WHICH IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN CONSUMERS ARE TREATED AS EQUAL AND SUBSIDIZED BY GOVERNMENT. NOTE THIS ONLY BECAME A PROBLEM AFTER SOCIAL WELFARE SYSTEMS WERE INTRODUCED.

2017-04-09 17:22:03 UTC

ALSO REMEMBER MY MENTION OF CASTE SYSTEMS

2017-04-09 17:22:08 UTC

wait wait wait

2017-04-09 17:22:17 UTC

I'm gonna need you to elaborate and substantiate some of that sentence

2017-04-09 17:22:33 UTC

" food companies are incentivized to feed you dyed corn syrup instead of food, because it is vastly cheaper?" -- INTRODUCE DISCERNING CONSUMERS, AS ONE MIGHT DO THROUGH A CASTE SYSTEM. THE MARKET RESPONDS TO THE AUDIENCE.

2017-04-09 17:22:39 UTC

where is the government subsidy leading to consumerism, and how in your view is consumerism substantially different than capitalism

2017-04-09 17:22:44 UTC

MARKET DYNAMICS REFLECT CULTURE

2017-04-09 17:23:34 UTC

"where is the government subsidy leading to consumerism, and how in your view is consumerism substantially different than capitalism" = CONSUMERISM IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE EMPOWER PEOPLE EQUALLY AS BUYERS, INSTEAD OF RELYING ON HIERARCHY BY WEALTH AS IS NATURAL IN CAPITALISM. THE SUBSIDIES ARE ALL OF THE NEW DEAL, GREAT SOCIETY AND WELFARE PROGRAMS. ALL BENNIES ARE THERE FOR EQUALITY AND CREATE A CONSUMER ECONOMY.
