Roger scruton is a liberal.
According to him, A british person is someone born in Britain, who is Christian and thinks liberty is good.
I have lost all respect for these academic conservatives who always stop short of saying anything too realistic.
Just enough to remain safely at the edge of employment.
If you ever wonder at who is employed vs. who is not, it's because the former are of some use to the current masters of government.
The difference between scruton, maurice cowling, peter hitchens vs people like bowden or bill hopkins.
Yet 2% of even "Muh realism right!" know whom the latter are.
Among the ills of the post-1968 cultural revolution are, apparently, the "deconstructionist, feminist, counter-cultural" ideas that encourage the destruction of all hierarchy. Feminism is an ill? Radical feminism only, it turns out, "which tries to overthrow the whole system of thinking on which we have hitherto depended" as opposed to "the tradition of female emancipation, beginning with Wollstonecraft and people like that, which is I think a completely different thing, and part of the natural reform of our institutions and our way of seeing things."
^ Roger scruton, conservative.
Basically Jordan Peterson.

He left?
That last image must have triggered him
the academic lionization of Wollstonecraft over the last ten years has been really odious
the need to take these barely average authors and turn them into feminist heroes is so galling

I for one think that one of the greatest European failures in the history of its political consolidation is the failure of establishing strong, permanent and exclusive European settlement in North Africa and Levant, but in particular North Africa
I blame the French and Venetians and other Catholics forever lost in their crusader blunders. English would've made Algeria Saxon in matter of months have they held these regions, but they've only had a hold of Egypt and Levant for some 50 turbulent years.
LIke every sane Civilization previously knew what was the *strategic imperative*. Romans knew better, so have Greeks, and Egyptians, even Byzantines.
why north africa
