Because they were testing the broadcast systems and didn’t want a false start for the people in the space station

Why don't they apply UV mapping, textures and lighting to the CAD model?

Cause why would they

They only need to test the station

Because it may mess up the small details

Make vital errors less visible

There are these things called GPUs

They can render a lot
