Happened because a guy in FL shot at cops that didnt declare themselves and were trying to arrest his niece while she was living with him. He shot, they shot back, he was arrested and served time until now

I can definitely get behind this law

I bet if you defend yourself even if the cop identifies himself but didnt hear it they'll release the body cam footage that same day so they can throw you in the pokey

The cops in this case grabbed the niece when she opened the door and since she was at home, they needed a warrant because she wasnt committing any crime

Gotta look at the bigger picture though. I'm still looking if the ruling exclusively rules them out as exceptions but so far I havent seen anything that excludes red flag from the ruling
