Its to help people trapped in low income and exploitative work
Or to help people who do unpaid work like Being a house husband/wife
And to pump money back into the economy to help revitalize consumerism
Or to give people a safety net to fall back on if they find themselves in unexpected circumstances
This is in some ways a benefits scheme but its not only about helping the people who are currently on benefits its about improving everyone's life
So remove welfare cliffs
Not give everybody $1000/month
People trapped in low income are stuck on welfare cliffs
Where the place theyre living in is higher than what theyre making
They ask their bosses to give them less hours
No pay raises
Just so the government can subsidize their housing costs
The $1000/month is extremely harmful for urbanites
The poor will just overcrowd
Yang is an idiot thinking the urbanites will move out to the rural areas with $12000/year income
You can hardly get people to move out of the urban complexes onto the rural towns despite how cheap housing is along with plentiful of jobs
It wont take 4 years to see the results

Decades of budget deficit and unfunded liability
We do not live in a society where the economy has no profit-margins
ISPs basically live on profit-margins
Seeing that everybody has $12000/year more to spend means they get to jack up their internet prices beyond their scopes
And other companies like ISP-wise live on these same profit margins
They live on a subscription-based service, they don't need to sell you a product
They just need to sell you on contracts so you can get fucked in the ass
