education doesn't fund itself. the citizens whom are educated grow up and become productive

2020-01-08 03:52:25 UTC

the funding part is automatic, we are a monetary sovereign

2020-01-08 03:52:32 UTC

the taxes later on control inflation

2020-01-08 03:52:58 UTC

healthcare is again a problem of the gov inviting an intermediary into a process that requires none

2020-01-08 03:53:06 UTC

The education system we have now works that way.

2020-01-08 03:53:08 UTC

hopefully they become productive.... this new generation is the first that will not be more economically productive than their parents

2020-01-08 03:53:20 UTC

it all comes from a basic misunderstanding of trying to insert a 'business like' process into something that is a not a business

2020-01-08 03:53:32 UTC

Yes

2020-01-08 03:53:43 UTC

the language involved told the tale 'put x on a business footing' and so on

2020-01-08 03:53:50 UTC

it was a broken metaphor, the gov is not a business

2020-01-08 03:53:51 UTC

don't fool yourself, religion, education and health care are big businesses

2020-01-08 03:54:15 UTC

'we' made them big businesses, but that's not how they have to be

2020-01-08 03:54:29 UTC

there can be businesses that supply the gov as we use in the military

2020-01-08 03:54:52 UTC

for the user, there should be only the choice of institution

2020-01-08 03:55:21 UTC

Why is education a charity? Why do students sit at desks and listen to a teacher while doing carefully planned out experiments that doesn’t correlate to the unpredictable real world

2020-01-08 03:55:38 UTC

It's not a charity. It's a public good

2020-01-08 03:55:43 UTC

the gov is not a business nor a charity

2020-01-08 03:56:05 UTC

it doesn't rob peter to pay paul. it pays paul, then taxes peter to control inflation of the currency it itself emits and controls

2020-01-08 03:56:27 UTC

even under commodity money, debt/credit was still 90% of the action, it just cleared differently

2020-01-08 03:56:41 UTC

even JFK knew this and he died long before pure fiat dollar

2020-01-08 03:57:19 UTC

I agree with that

2020-01-08 03:57:29 UTC

I’m not arguing that.

2020-01-08 03:57:37 UTC

this "politics of envy" scenario invoking "you are robbing me to pay for somebody else' seducation!" is a misunderstanding of how FEDERAL spending works at least

2020-01-08 03:58:02 UTC

Inflation needs to be controlled and taxes should flex compared to inflation needs.

2020-01-08 03:58:06 UTC

the states and counties are not monetary sovereigns however, but the fedgov can transfer at the institution level or as granular as policy wants

2020-01-08 03:58:36 UTC

re inflation, there are also some bad assumptions about 'how much', often because of a special interest group

2020-01-08 03:58:52 UTC

in the 70s/80s, it was the fixed income types that wanting the gov to basically gurantee them high rates an dlow inflation, a massive subsidy

2020-01-08 03:59:24 UTC

these same people funded much of the conservative movement and still do. so it was a very successful operation to get a huge privilege and then fund propaganda to keep it

2020-01-08 04:00:30 UTC

Although in a country built on freedom, you need a balance

2020-01-08 04:00:49 UTC

there is no contradiction here

2020-01-08 04:01:01 UTC

these were essentially the beliefs of the people involved in the constitution, if that matters

2020-01-08 04:01:27 UTC

having a monetary sovereign and 'general welfare' was part of the goal for creating a more powerful central government

2020-01-08 04:01:41 UTC

with 'libertarian' style rights a given for individuals

2020-01-08 04:02:20 UTC

there is no freedom versus gov spending 'balance', it's a bogeyman a certain faction of theUS drags out to scare people into voting against their interest

2020-01-08 04:03:12 UTC

damn Iran claiming direct responsibility for the attacks

2020-01-08 04:03:22 UTC

we are now officially in a shooting war with another country

2020-01-08 04:03:27 UTC

not a non-state terrorist organization

2020-01-08 04:04:10 UTC

Hello yes, I joined to learn more about this new conflict between Iran and the U.S.

2020-01-08 04:05:24 UTC

Well, it started with destroying non-state terrorist organizations. Then they decided they wanted to strike back, and now we have to fight. There was no way to get out of that if you want to take down a giant terrorist corporation funded by the government of another country

2020-01-08 04:05:25 UTC

GG @Yusa, you just advanced to level 8!

2020-01-08 04:06:30 UTC

I think we just summed up the argument for you Knitemare
