“But when told.. higher taxes and wait times... support drops significantly”
Right, so when you lie to them
Lol
They are going to pay less, and have comparable (if not lower) wait times
It isn’t a lie.
If you lie to them, they are going to change their answer
Some studies find much higher wait times, and obviously higher taxes
Most Americans would end up paying far less than they currently do
The tax thing is a red herring.
> We estimate that total health expenditures under a Medicare for All plan that provides comprehensive coverage and long-term care benefits would be $3.89 trillion in 2019 (assuming such a plan was in place for all of the year), or a 1.8 percent increase relative to expenditures under current law. This estimate accounts for a variety of factors including increased demand for health services, changes in payment and prices, and lower administrative costs. **We also include a supply constraint that results in unmet demand equal to 50 percent of the new demand.** If there were no supply constraint, we estimate that total health expenditures would increase by 9.8 percent to $4.20 trillion.
That’s a large wait time (in bold).
The argument about wait times is completely false.
Not exactly, the healthcare system is supply constrained. Increasing demand results in higher wait times.
So we have one of the lowest in the world currently, that can change drastically with Sanders passing his plan.
Neither the facts nor experts agree with your opinion
That's all you've got - an uninformed opinion
The study I linked above seems to agree
(It also finds increased national spending, contrary to what Sanders thinks).
I also forgot to add, quality might decrease too.
**and** the fact that it’s politically impossible to pass. In other words, not realistic. But if it does happen it’ll be shit.
Even your own studies you post contradict your point
"Overall, we estimate that health care spending would increase by 1.8 percent relative to expenditures under current law,"
So, a 1.8% increase is going to bankrupt us? Lol
No it’s not, but the point is sanders claims we’ll reduce costs.
Likewise costing **less** than the current system, this precise study says otherwise.
Most studies disagree, you can try to cherry pick stuff that vaguely aligns with your point
We spend more and get less than other countries
I wouldn’t be so sure, I can provide other studies too that reach similar conclusions.
My ideal system would be a fully privatised system; deregulation and removing interference.
The system is broken, and cruel
Are you American?
If you are, you're very unpatriotic.
If you're a foreigner, your attempts to hurt this country are well noted - good luck tovarish
> We spend more and get less than other countries
It’s much more nuanced than that lol
You can’t just say “we spend more than other countries, so lets adopt a totally different system to them”
Why do we spend more? Prime driving force is intervention such as regulation raising costs.
Another reason would be obesity and income.
The right wing solution seems to be: do nothing. Line pockets with money
Health expenditures rise with income, the US is richer than most.
Does Trump have an amazing healthcare plan? Where is it?
