@Festive Spaghetti my pint was not that you should bow down to him, but was a hyperbolical way of saying “life sucks honey, but he’s your president rn so deal with it.” Fighting his presidency will get you nowhere and just displays you as someone who just lives to complain pathetically. I can tell, however, that this chick^ does not do research and debates childishly; a typical trait of most “non-trump” supporters. Way to lose sight of what was said to fit your sad, liberal agenda. @FL_Gatorman quarantine has nothing to do with what trump is doing with an actual wall protected to keep illegals out of America, Democrats are Saying that to keep us safe in this pandemic rn. Because as I said earlier if 90% of us stay home this would be over in 4 weeks.
If you're not restricting travel into the US then you're basically asking for more coronavirus cases to accumulate without any real way to stem the flow, and even if 90% of people stay home that's not accounting for the remaining 33 million or so walking around. It's a no brainer to temporarily restrict immigration and it absolutely helps flatten the curve and lower cases, regardless of Trump's personal opinions on it. Do remember that the US pandemic came *from* foreign cases and citizens in different countries, most of which now are just as badly impacted by the virus with generally equivalent case and death stats per capita.
quarantine isnt the cure. it only delays the inevitable.
It's just a stop-gap measure to buy more time for a treatment as well as to lower the infection rate. We cannot be quarantined indefinitely because this will irreparably fuck up both the US and world economies, something that's lost on a whole lot of people.
social distancing is the way to go though even if not quarantined
Of course, precautions should still be followed even though they aren't going to be a great defense really. This is what most of the people in the "reopen economy" camp are going to acknowledge, as well as the need to partially reopen in the areas faring the best.
Instead of an immediate nationwide reopening.
Immideate repoening would cause the virus to keep spreading
It's going to spread to some degree regardless, its about minimizing it while keeping the economy afloat.
