We don’t need an army on the border, and a wall is just trying to buy a golden toilet. **you don’t need it, there are better options that are a whole lot cheaper and effective**. Yes, it “does open jobs”, but if you are obsessed with making jobs, read the argument above this. Anyhow even then the jobs would be limited to very few people and would require skill and training which may make some drop out. Also it costs a lot to keep them around, and you don’t really bust drug operations that much, so you lose money heavily. A good thing to do is simply do what they did before, maybe add a bit more cameras, probably add 15% more security to the boarder, maybe make new systems to allow people who lack true identification (like brith certificates, most countries which people migrate from wouldn’t really be giving those out) and allow them to still come here legally via a process I’m not qualified to design
