Rehabilitation has only really be shown to be effective in informal settings
and even so, it's not super effective
I wonder if we could get a psychology doctor or something to weigh in on this
Rehabilitation works if you dont make it a crime
simple
I study crime
Countries with low reoffending rates have allowed rampant actions to go unenforced
it's just that simple
Yeah but we're talking about disobedience with kids
this luxury prison is a meme
not necessarily the focus of crime
yes
kids do crime
simple as
Prevention is our main avenue. You prevent someone from becoming a criminal in the first place.
which deals more with the way criminals tend to act
death penalty for all
juveniles can receive the death penalty in texas
which is what i admire
na that's unconstitutional
> unconstitutional
kek
Yes but studying adult crime vs child crime is very different
there was a court case on the death penalty for juveniles and it was ruled that you can't kill them
and anyway this isn't even just about crimes anyway. It's more like child disobedience in general
child disobedience can grow into criminality
it's ok
if left unchecked
we kill them at 18

Yes but what I'm saying is that we want to focus on specifically that area
Norway has one of the lowest recidivism rates in the world, currently 20%,[1] with approximately 3,933 offenders in prison,[2] and one of the lowest crime rates in the world.[3] Norway's prisons are renowned for being some of the best and most humane in the world. Norway does not have the death penalty or sentence people to life imprisonment. The maximum custodial sentence is 21 years
Breivik sure enjoys it
after killing all those kids
correlation =/= causation
So, we learn that harsh punishments don't help kids OR criminals. Or the rest of society, by extension.
it's low because norway isn't hot enough
cosby is legit a brainlet
And yet, you want to argue harsher punishment
