We are unable to provide the knowledge required to verify objective truth

2019-10-17 16:04:10 UTC

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2019-10-17 16:50:57 UTC

@⭐ trunks ⭐ yeah idk what his basketball shit is about but

2019-10-17 16:51:03 UTC

Atheism is the lack of a religion

2019-10-17 16:51:08 UTC

And theism is religion

2019-10-17 16:57:26 UTC

Theism isn’t inherently religion

2019-10-17 16:57:45 UTC

There are religions without gods and higher powers

2019-10-17 17:00:27 UTC

Theism is religion but not all religion is necessarily theism (although the vast majority is)

We know very little . We don't even know how we ourselves fare at being able to analyze what we 'know' and how we interpret it. If we are in touch with our discernment capabilities all our evidence is anecdotal. So we can't judge our bias well we can't judge the main instrument we will use- our brain -well... How can we hope to judge the data well?

2019-10-17 18:56:32 UTC

That kind of stuff is cute, but when you operate in an industry upon which 'reality' is a harsh critical, like aviation, etc, things are much simpler in a philosophical context

2019-10-17 19:00:55 UTC

Being a 'Type 6' atheist frees me up to think about other stuff, like the perfect batter for fried chicken or which EGT reading gives me turbines the best service life, etc

2019-10-17 19:31:24 UTC

Why care about after death, when you can care about now

2019-10-17 21:13:19 UTC

Our bodies may die, but our genes can live on through our children.

2019-10-17 21:14:03 UTC

We live on after death through the legacies we leave behind.

2019-10-17 21:16:07 UTC

Not even necessary to go that for as motivation to be nice to your kids or do worthwhile things. You can see the result of some of that effort while you live.

2019-10-17 21:16:41 UTC

Maybe not if you pick some weird esoteric goal ala PsychoHistory, but I was able to know my great-grandmother very well, for example

2019-10-17 22:26:00 UTC

Every generation halves the gene that you pass on

2019-10-17 22:26:34 UTC

50 percent to child, 25 to grand, 12.5 to great grand and etc; not including random assortment and etc

2019-10-17 22:27:41 UTC

So theocratically your descendants may be only .01 percent related to you

2019-10-17 22:29:18 UTC

Passing on genes is such a stupid reason for humans to reproduce

2019-10-17 22:31:06 UTC

Yeah, you're gonna be "immortal" because some of the genetic code you shot from your dick is passed on lol. And good point @3v6en8 - very quickly, whatever genes you pass on will be diluted anyways.

2019-10-18 04:08:38 UTC

wat

2019-10-18 13:50:21 UTC

Have you heard of Gregor Mendel @Dr.Cosby

2019-10-18 14:03:38 UTC

Sure, I've gone to school before @Gerry <:GWjiangPepeThumb:407619074466643978>

2019-10-18 14:04:47 UTC

Yea so his genes won’t be that diluted

2019-10-18 14:07:24 UTC

I mean...lmao what makes it "your" gene anyways? How much of it changing until it's not "yours" anymore? It's not like DNA is a mini version of you running around on a microscopic level

2019-10-18 14:07:46 UTC

It's very silly

2019-10-18 14:09:18 UTC

People are slowly coming around to the idea that puppy mills and the like are immoral - and we should adopt our pets whenever possible (from shelters, etc)

2019-10-18 14:09:29 UTC

We should extend that same compassion to human beings

2019-10-18 15:25:02 UTC

He carries the genes

2019-10-18 15:25:12 UTC

They are his genes

2019-10-18 15:25:34 UTC

And no

2019-10-18 15:25:46 UTC

Some humans are just worth less

2019-10-18 15:32:34 UTC

Of course

2019-10-18 15:32:54 UTC

Yeah, like breeders
