Theism isn’t inherently religion

There are religions without gods and higher powers

Theism is religion but not all religion is necessarily theism (although the vast majority is)

We know very little . We don't even know how we ourselves fare at being able to analyze what we 'know' and how we interpret it. If we are in touch with our discernment capabilities all our evidence is anecdotal. So we can't judge our bias well we can't judge the main instrument we will use- our brain -well... How can we hope to judge the data well?

That kind of stuff is cute, but when you operate in an industry upon which 'reality' is a harsh critical, like aviation, etc, things are much simpler in a philosophical context

Being a 'Type 6' atheist frees me up to think about other stuff, like the perfect batter for fried chicken or which EGT reading gives me turbines the best service life, etc

Why care about after death, when you can care about now

Our bodies may die, but our genes can live on through our children.

We live on after death through the legacies we leave behind.

Not even necessary to go that for as motivation to be nice to your kids or do worthwhile things. You can see the result of some of that effort while you live.

Maybe not if you pick some weird esoteric goal ala PsychoHistory, but I was able to know my great-grandmother very well, for example

Every generation halves the gene that you pass on

50 percent to child, 25 to grand, 12.5 to great grand and etc; not including random assortment and etc

So theocratically your descendants may be only .01 percent related to you
