The Holocaust wasn't really religiously motivated though.
It's hard to imagine what would or wouldn't exist "without religion". The Holocaust wasn't primarily motivated by "religion" per say, but religious ways of thinking (megalomania, "higher purpose", scapegoatism, etc) were definitely present.
