The purpose of the sacrifice was to create an eternal promise of access into heaven through the covenant of Jesus's blood being spilled to substitute for the necessary sacrifice to remove sin from humanity

As previously lambs were viewed as a symbol of innocence, as well as being a prized portion of the herd, they were used chiefly as the sacrifice to erase the sins of the Hebrew people, as we see within the attempted sacrifice of Isaac

This is the origin for the moniker of the Lamb being attributed to Jesus as well

If they live within North America or Europe, their value system is clearly going to be more in line with the Judeo-Christian ethics and morals, which has largely become ubiquitous on an international scale. I attribute this largely to the switch to Christianity within the Roman Empire's history, as the Romans and Greeks have largely been the foundation of western society and civilization.

However, as we move into different regions we see changes within the local opinion on morality and ethics

Even within countries that largely share Judeo-Christian values we can see a difference
