Though, he often talks about facts and feelings, yet ive seen him get really emotional and use illogic when pushed

2019-10-12 10:32:39 UTC

responding to fairly good arguments with "not an argument" which is ridiculous

2019-10-12 10:34:35 UTC

Remember the good ole days when Stefan and Milo did a bunch of episodes together lol. poor milo

@Gоd Twin studies literally do not control for socioeconomic factors. It's usually only economic ones

2019-10-12 12:54:30 UTC

@Alexstrasza no, i don't have a problem with the alternative hypothesis. I also don't really know why you came up with that response, the only point you've made is that black people are more likely to do more dangerous drugs supposedly

2019-10-12 12:54:38 UTC

that doesn't subvert or undermine his point at all

2019-10-12 12:56:31 UTC

@Gоd Of course genetics do play a role in IQ, but this in and of itself doesn't automatically refute the environmentalist arguement

2019-10-12 12:57:54 UTC

first off these twin studies do not account for environment, at the same time this doesn't exactly disprove their findings, but it also doesn't disprove that the environment children are placed in can significantly hinder them

2019-10-12 12:58:45 UTC

if two children are placed in two significantly different environments then there will be a deviation regardless of how related they are

2019-10-12 12:59:04 UTC

if i put one kid with a family of richy rich he's gonna be smart as hell, and if i placed some kid in some starving village in africa

2019-10-12 12:59:09 UTC

Yes, it's just a fallacious non sequitur to say that these twin studies disprove that environment may have a larger effect on IQ

2019-10-12 12:59:20 UTC

**you get the point, both logically and in reality it doesn't add up**

2019-10-12 12:59:50 UTC

their genes ARE still being expressed of course, and are the main driving force of what their IQ consist of

2019-10-12 13:00:22 UTC

it's just like any other trait though, if you have a dirt poor environment for that gene to be expressed then it will never even reach its full genetic potential

2019-10-12 13:00:57 UTC

@Sentient23 stop making fascism look stupid, thank you.

2019-10-12 13:01:36 UTC

The conversation was not about fascism, idiot @Deleted User

2019-10-12 13:01:53 UTC

which is why environment is considered along with genetic influences is the cause of genetic variation, the better the environment the more likely genes will be the main cause of variation

2019-10-12 13:01:56 UTC

and vice versa

2019-10-12 13:02:16 UTC

there have been studies that prove or go into this

2019-10-12 13:02:40 UTC

"Harden and colleagues (2007) investigated adolescents, most 17 years old, and found that, among higher income families, genetic influences accounted for approximately 55% of the variance in cognitive aptitude and shared environmental influences about 35%. Among lower income families, the proportions were in the reverse direction, 39% genetic and 45% shared environment."

2019-10-12 13:03:06 UTC

@Sentient23 Yes, but you identifying yourself as a fascist and getting triggered is making us look bad.

2019-10-12 13:03:07 UTC

2019-10-12 13:03:10 UTC

therefore the arguement was NEVER about how herritable IQ is or was, it's just what's causing the variation between populations

2019-10-12 13:03:20 UTC

Getting triggered? How did i get triggered exactly?

2019-10-12 13:29:37 UTC

why do these racial fascists try so hard to change the definition of racism

2019-10-12 13:30:17 UTC

@Deleted User who did that?

2019-10-12 13:31:10 UTC

sentient

2019-10-12 13:31:38 UTC
2019-10-12 13:31:41 UTC

straight off the bat

2019-10-12 13:31:45 UTC

i'm looking at these wiki sources

2019-10-12 13:32:01 UTC

scratch that i'm looking at ONE wiki source, and i can tell this dude is both a racist and a white supremacist

2019-10-12 13:32:39 UTC

At its core, racism means something to the extent that you subscribe to the idea that different races exist

2019-10-12 13:33:09 UTC

I do not give a shit what you "can tell" i give a shit about what actually is,

2019-10-12 13:33:09 UTC

GG @Sentient23, you just advanced to level 4!

2019-10-12 13:33:20 UTC

both definitions of racism: "prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior."

2019-10-12 13:33:24 UTC

@Deleted User I defined racism as thinking that certain race X is superior to race Y

2019-10-12 13:33:26 UTC

"the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races."

2019-10-12 13:33:36 UTC
2019-10-12 13:33:36 UTC
