Suppose the cops and criminals were playing a game of fortnite.
The cops are playing against two teams: Team White and Team Black.
Who would you say the cops are going too hard on?

If you try to 3D print a 1911, will the printer jam?
Probably
Still better than if you try to 3D print a Cobray Terminator though
That'll just fail to print
40% of the time, that is
My GF saw that thumbnail and went "the French have guns? Are they the cartoon ones that have the flag pop out with the word bang on it, only it doesn't say bang, it's just a white flag?"
wife her
If he doesn't I will 😝
Several 3D printing companies printed 1911 in DMLS
It only needs some finishing touches where the parts connect
How good will it function in the end though?
The sintered barrel is not good enough for sustained fire, but all of the printed guns survived several magazines of testing
And if you'd get a proper barrel, a laser-sintered gun should last as any other 1911
I mean laser sintered car parts go right into the testing stand because it is so structurally stable
Think about it this way: it is a fine metal powder that was welded into shape with laser (under an inert atmosphere)
What is limiting is the actual price
The cheapest DMLS printer will cost you at least $500 000
And the more typical price for it is $1-3M
