On the real thing the rear sight notch is a lot smaller, it's only large enough to leave a little bit of light on either side of the front sight post

But IRL you've got two eyes, your dominant eye looks down the sights while your other eye fills in whatever's ocluded by the sights

In a video game there's only one image, so they redesign the sights to occlude less of the target

Nights are only used for CQB on rifles. Two dots is enough. You get a GRS and on the rear you have a single dot at the bottom of the reticle, then you have one on the shrouded FSP. Bam, quick acquisition in total darkness and consistency to hit 25Y and below targets with 4" accuracy no problem
