don't hire unqualified people, turn them into qualified people and then hire them based on their qualifications

2018-02-25 13:01:25 UTC

might be more expensive in the short run but will end up with a working system in the forseeable future... affirmative action ensures that you will have unqualified people forever

2018-02-25 13:02:11 UTC

I agree, affirmative action was always a shit solution. I like to compare it to a gun shot. Black America was shot repeatedly by the Government. The government then realized they were in the wrong and decided know what, we’re sorry, let me help you. Then they went to the bleeding black guy and handed him a Band-aid called affirmative action. The band-aid doesn’t actually make the bullet wound go away, & barely stops the bleeding. All it does is cover up the wound so nobody has to look at it anymore.

2018-02-25 13:03:01 UTC

The black guy is still on the ground bleeding out, and the government gets to pretend like it actually helped

2018-02-25 13:03:21 UTC

Meanwhile all it did was make everything worse like usual

2018-02-25 13:03:44 UTC

but hey... feminism is working on making affirmative action redundant... so there is one good thing coming out if it πŸ˜„

2018-02-25 13:03:53 UTC

Plz no

2018-02-25 13:04:22 UTC

if you can self identify as a black woman you get all the affirmative action you want πŸ˜„

2018-02-25 13:04:54 UTC

replacing the unqualified black workers with unqualified female workers as a forced quota wont help the business or hard working people

2018-02-25 13:05:10 UTC

and saying that you are not a black woman makes them a racist, transphobic bigot πŸ˜„

2018-02-25 13:05:37 UTC

funny thing is that if women just accepted a 23% pay cut they'd actually achieve their hiring amount πŸ˜›

2018-02-25 13:06:40 UTC

they could also just work higher paid jobs to fill that 23% black hole

2018-02-25 13:08:57 UTC

and "they" does not include every single woman.

2018-02-25 13:09:00 UTC

no it wouldnt

2018-02-25 13:09:27 UTC

if they only work 77% of the time they'll get paid 77% of the 100% wage at any salary

2018-02-25 13:10:37 UTC

they work more than 77% of the time.

2018-02-25 13:11:32 UTC

but the adjusted pay gap is somewhere between 4% and 6% and still does not include every variable.

2018-02-25 13:12:18 UTC

because you can't include every variable

2018-02-25 13:12:23 UTC

there is no variable

2018-02-25 13:12:38 UTC

you accept the wage to work in said job

2018-02-25 13:12:49 UTC

if you're not happy with it, you don't take the job

2018-02-25 13:14:34 UTC

i worked a job where we got 2% of every sale. that is a variable that can not appropriately be included in a statistic like that.

2018-02-25 13:15:14 UTC

that is the accepted wage then

2018-02-25 13:15:33 UTC

the accepted wage was the base salary πŸ˜‰

2018-02-25 13:15:42 UTC

and the additional 2%

2018-02-25 13:15:46 UTC

sure.

2018-02-25 13:16:00 UTC

but how do you reflect that in stats like that?

2018-02-25 13:17:07 UTC

you really can't - which gets reflected in that 4% - 6%

2018-02-25 13:17:22 UTC

which is just there and will not go away

2018-02-25 13:17:29 UTC

you don't have to

2018-02-25 13:18:12 UTC

its not my reponsibility to ensure what you get paid is fair

2018-02-25 13:18:16 UTC

you have to if you want to have accurate statistics

2018-02-25 13:18:44 UTC

(i'm talking about that pay gap stat...)

2018-02-25 13:18:57 UTC

you don't have to

If i agree to work for someone for free, i can't start complaining that others earn an infinity amount more

2018-02-25 13:19:47 UTC

that would be your individual choice which has barely any impact on high-number stats πŸ˜„

2018-02-25 13:19:59 UTC

it applies to everyone

2018-02-25 13:20:02 UTC

sure

2018-02-25 13:20:23 UTC

no one is forcing a woman to work for less than a man

if she doesn't like it she doesn't need to accept the job with said associated pay

2018-02-25 13:20:45 UTC

and if you combine everyones choices to get to 4% - 6% difference in pay if you seperate by gender

2018-02-25 13:21:10 UTC

i personally prefer to seperate by shoe size
