the term was popularized during this last election to mean that

2018-03-05 03:47:02 UTC

Popularized by... was it Milo?

2018-03-05 03:47:15 UTC

and all it took was someone else to mention it

2018-03-05 03:47:22 UTC

for Richard Spencer to suddenly become relevant

2018-03-05 03:47:22 UTC

naw, they redefined white supremacist is anything or any one who disagrees with them

2018-03-05 03:47:29 UTC

the term meant /pol/

2018-03-05 03:47:41 UTC

no concrete ideas

2018-03-05 03:47:59 UTC

white supremacy was part of it, but didn't define it

2018-03-05 03:48:08 UTC

I'd disagree.

2018-03-05 03:48:44 UTC

Even if it DID mean anything else, Alt-right has been sullied anyway.

2018-03-05 03:48:53 UTC

I'd fight the Left over words

2018-03-05 03:48:54 UTC

there is two definitions of alt-right. What the left thinks it is, and what everyone accused of being alt-right things its is

2018-03-05 03:49:05 UTC

but pulling words back from the alt-right won't do us any good.

2018-03-05 03:49:20 UTC

to the left, anything right of Stalin is "alt-right"

2018-03-05 03:49:55 UTC

The fact is that the alt right is hard to discern, between their figureheads and the trolls that are out just to get a rise out of people. It gives off the impression that they're not serious, and if they are not taking their beliefs that seriously, why should anyone else?

2018-03-05 03:50:25 UTC

I believe Alt-Right begins with anyone presenting as being 'right', but in support of an ethnostate.

2018-03-05 03:50:26 UTC

it's like ppl don't know 4chan

2018-03-05 03:50:44 UTC

I don't agree

2018-03-05 03:51:05 UTC

I'm willing to bet MSM didn't know what 4chan and /pol/ where and took them seriously

2018-03-05 03:51:06 UTC

alt-right doesn't necessarily support an ethnostate

2018-03-05 03:51:15 UTC

typical old people not understanding the internet

2018-03-05 03:51:39 UTC

I thought they were nationalists that believed since every race has it's own "state" in the world, then that would include white people as well. I don't even think I've heard many self-described alt-righters claim to be "supremecist", so much as just acknowledging that there are racial differences.

2018-03-05 03:51:41 UTC

Belial

2018-03-05 03:51:56 UTC

but they do acknowledge the problems of open borders and "white genocide"

2018-03-05 03:52:02 UTC

in much the same way that I once would've considered myself a feminist, and a humanist

2018-03-05 03:52:07 UTC

Those words mean something different now.

2018-03-05 03:52:27 UTC

they have all been hijacked by the same group of people

2018-03-05 03:52:51 UTC

like they had strings attaching them to that group as they fell into a black hole

2018-03-05 03:53:00 UTC

thereºs a big difference

2018-03-05 03:53:14 UTC

feminist was taken by a group and used for power

2018-03-05 03:53:17 UTC

you know that feeling

2018-03-05 03:53:24 UTC

alt-right was redefined by their enemies

2018-03-05 03:53:30 UTC

When you're a fan of a video game series or something

2018-03-05 03:53:34 UTC

Civic nationalism.

2018-03-05 03:53:51 UTC

and then you realize that the other people who call themselves fans of that thing

2018-03-05 03:54:03 UTC

@RyeNorth ik where you're going with this =p

2018-03-05 03:54:14 UTC

make stuff like this?

2018-03-05 03:54:15 UTC

but I don't think this is the case

I can't call myself a Sonic fan.

2018-03-05 03:54:34 UTC

alt-right was redefined by outsiders
