So because a perfect environment is out of reach, we shouldn't make any improvements?
We could, but those improvements are considered murder 😦
kill all humans. telling ya, solution to all our problems
@possumsquat93 the main problem with "imporvements" is trying to trying to improve such an incredibly complex system, without just making a headache for people and not fixing anything, or maybe even making one part better but somewhere else another part is now even worse so you end up left with a net loss in imporvement . When it comes down to it, the only improvement is basically buy and use less stuff.
that, and none of the mainstream "proposed" ideas actually work
Take solar panels: great for a sunny day, but at night? you need batteries. and making batteries is HORRIBLE for the environment. Same problem with electric cars. Good job, you stopped ICE from making pollution.... now the electric grid, run mostly on COAL needs to take up the slack, and you need more of those wonderfully awful batteries. (oh, and when you traded in that perfectly functioning if slightly dirty ICE car? Yeah, more junk for our junk heaps that worked fine, and one brand new car that costs a lot of carbon to make.)
Aren't batteries recyclable? What's an ICE car?
Internal Combustion Engine
its not the recyclable part, and idk how recyclable they are but they need a proper disposable method because they have some very toxic metals in them. But no, its making batteries
and other parts of electric cars
they require pretty hard to get metals.
which means lots of energy needed, lots of pollution created, digging those things out.
so much so that it almost negates the carbon footprint saved from using an electric car. and that is something you get just from buying the stupid thing.
think about that: with an ICE car, your carbon footprint is based on how much you drive. But with an electric vehicle, you get all the carbon footprint from normal lifetime operation of an ICE car right off the bat.
meaning you HAVE to drive it a lot, and until it dies, to make up the margin to "save"
its like needing to buy something in bulk just to save money on each item, only to need to use twice your normal amount of that item to make it worth while.
now, if you have an ICE car, and its basically dead, buying hybrid or even electric is probably a better choice for the environment. but how many people do that?
and will they stop buying "this years latest model"
the thing that makes carbon footprints larger is consumption over anything else.
this for the discussion in newsroom
wonder what happened in the 40's to jump that IQ gain 🤔
almost like something big happened to affect the whole world
AAAAAAAAdam warski
gettin' away with it
touch that boy's hole and you'll pay adam's toll

Waiting for warski to get struck down and for IBS to die and then I'll just go insane with a lack of fresh bantz during the morning
I'll probably be forced to... do actual work....

honestly I love ibs still
I've taken a liking to the ralph retort since it's like a mixture of drama alert, ibs and news commentary
