Just look at Cuba
Aussie will say Cuba was commie, doesn't count.
#NOTREALDICTATORSHIP
All societies have most people do what a goverment tells them to do for exaple you stop at traffic lights.
Cuba was more socialist...it even has private property
at the whim of the dictator, anyway.
I guarantee, if the dictator said you don't own that anymore, no refunds.
It's the principal that matters, should a family vote for who will be the head of a household?
Depends
In what situlation should a family vote for the head of a household?
I mean, if the head of the household is 70, has narcolepsy, and insists on a cross-country road trip
with him as the sole driver
Pretty sure I'd be voting for a recall.
May I die peacefully in my sleep like my uncle
Not screaming for dear life like the passengers in his van.
Yes there needs to be a way for a leader to step down and that is the only thing democracy gets right.
Okay, so you can remove the dictator.
Does he step down voluntarily, or is he taken down by force?
Look I know some dictators don't step down. The way I see it is that most dictators are motivated by two things, power and their place in hisotry.
Their disire to keep themsleves in power will stop alot of dictors to step down while their disire for a good place in history might motivate them to step down when thier no longer able to run a country.
Nice gif.
But a dictatorship is an absolute form of government.
Yes I know it has it's problems but I think that dictatorship under a fascist system works better than a democary.
Therefore, you either have to wait for a natural death, PRAY that they'll step down, or if all else fails, sic semper tyrannis.
Yes you do get some bad leaders some times but I would rather that then democracy.
Oh, absolutely. Democracy is terrible on full scale.
That's why the US isn't a Democracy.
It's what happens because of democracy.
Our original script writers knew that was a bad trope to use as a crutch
(back to metaphor, lul)
Look I think it's a bad metaphor because you don't vote for the script writer like you do in America so it's a bad analogy.
I think you just don't understand the system I'm describing.
I didn't vote for the script writer. Script writers have been dead for two centuries.
I think the movie making process is a better metaphor for the type of goverment I want, you have the director (dictator), script writer, editors (civil service) and set workers are the working class all working together to create somthing greater then themsleves.
All I'm saying is, we're the only nation where you can still yell either 'Fuck Muslims' or 'Fuck the President' and neither will get you arrested.
Unless, of course, you're breaking into someone's house to yell these things. Then you might get shot. Also only in America.
Yes I agree that academics, scientists and those sorts of people should have some room to move because for the most part they are the only people who really need freedom of speech.
Also, working together for the 'greater good' is fine and all when you're not getting shot/castrated for not playing along.
and bullshit. Anyone with a god damned mouth deserves freedom of speech
why the fuck are you saying you 'agree' with this
