Anyway I find it hard to see why some events from over 200 years ago matter. South Korea was distoryed by North Korea less then a century ago and they still recovered.

1) Haiti faced international boycott in response to driving out the French. Everyone refused to trade with them. As a result their economy tanked. The only other nation to receive this level of trade denial in modern history is North Korea.
2) Haiti was absolutely garbage at adaptation to the modern world. It's only just now that they've begun to adapt to the booming tech industry

no no no, you have to follow your logic. If culture and the ability to create civilizations are determined by biology, then these two should be similar. Otherwise the fact that these other countries have been tribal or authoritarian becomes a non-biological reason for the issue.
