Yeah, but what I'm saying is America was about freedom and making your own way. Europe was about loyalty to the state and communal/authoritarian values
Mind you, now we've got the 'States slowly undermining their core values, one by one
Even if it did that through a capitalist economy
sure there was more self centeredness in american culture relitive to european culture so you have a point there
but i dont think that stifled entrepenuership as much as the myth makes it out to be
just look at firearms development in europe and how many names pop up over its history that wernt established manufacturers to begin with
theres also a myth that everyone who came to america was successful even though we know most europeans who migrated here in the 19th century went back home just as poor
the majority had no success in the united states and those we have now still were the exceptions to the rules or the wealthy
i mean, firearms development was a real easy market in most of europe for most of european history
I mean tbf I have a skewed view on American prosperity, the Irish were slaves and now we're most of Boston lmao
there was always a pair of countries looking for weapons to kill each-other
OMG EUROPE LEGITIMATELY BEGGED TO BE FUCKED AND NOW THEY ARE TRYING TO RUIN THE INTERNET FOR EVERYONE
They must all be bottoms
its too late
its already been done
prepare your anus
they are going in dry
It's not. It's now in the hands of the government reps each country has in the EU that actually choose what laws go in to place. We can bitch at our government to slap it down but if we couldn't get the people we vote for to side with us then we aren't going to get the rep to listen. It was nice while it lasted.
The EU is seriously losing power and influence though.
Are they? We (UK) haven't left yet. They own Greece, they all just voted to threaten Hungary with sanctions, nobody seem to make a peep about forming an EU army. Please show me where they are losing power.
YEah, in a big way they are. Euroskeptic politicians have been elected in droves in multiple countries including Italy, France, Germany, UK, and much of Eastern Europe. Both in national elections and in EU elections, Euroskeptics are gaining power very steadily!
A guy I really like following on this is Dr. Steve Turley, he documents a ton of it with good social science data.
And Merkel--the figurehead that really keeps the EU what it is, is in huge trouble:
I recommend Turley's channel in a big way.
I think @Timcast would especially appreciate Steve Turley, he's got info no one else has got, and he's a very respectable academic.
I can't past a link for some reason but look for "Steve Turley Merkel's Gov't On Bring As Germans Reject Open Borders"
There it went. Watch that, look at his other videos too. EU/Globalists are in trouble in Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Italy, Germany, Sweden (YES SWEDEN!) and other countries.
yeah, guy from poland in here earlier talking about it, and sweden.
clearly Hungary hasn't made the EU happy, Italy has had problems for a long time, so only a matter of time
didn't know about Germany having a problem but not surprised
UK is clearly waking up, double that with Article 11 and 13. and Trump is doing nothing to help
well, help the EU
I've seen a couple of his vids but mainly just when I come across them, I'll give him a watch. Yes there is a Euro skeptic rise across the EU, most of which has come to a head coz Brexit gave them the balls. When this is all said and done and we are still under their thumb it will die off. The smaller countries would find it near impossible to leave. Merkel may be the figure head but she is by know means the one in charge. They aren't worried in the slightest. If they were then they wouldn't keep running their mouth about more integration.

'Hoarding money' isn't harmful. Chang my mind
Withholding money arbitrarily ramps up inflation doesn't it? It's theirs to save, but keeping it out of the economy drives inflation up
Opposite, actually.
The economy is geared towards constant instant spending, which is probably a really bad idea tbh
If everyone stopped spending no one would be able to get paid. A countries economy is based off the movement of money. Not how rich one person is.
It becomes an absolutely bad idea when you factor in the reliance on debt
Hoarding money? or hoarding value?
