It's basically setting a precedent that people can sue public servants for blocking over god damn social media. Because none of these morons can just log off and still see the tweet
I like Styxhexenhammer's argument that this decision can basically be interpreted as 'it's illegal for Twitter to shadowban or even at all ban people from using Twitter'
I'd like your opinions on a quora answer that claims conservatives are the reason so many people are socialist.
https://www.quora.com/Why-is-socialism-appealing-to-many-young-Americans/answer/Chris-Joosse
Or more specifically, right-wingers
Hmm...
This IS a good idea
I take my stances back on the topic of the public forum thing
His claim: "omg, look at all the shit that happened with the conservatives free market in the US! We should be more socialist like the nordic countries 'You’re not inhibited from looking around, from noticing that it’s not like this in other places (like, say, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, etc)'"
....places with freer markets so their people can afford to pay for their safety nets.
apparently he didn't listen when those countries said "hey, stop calling use socialist. we are not"
It's stupid. Scandinavian countries are not Socialist
I fucking live here
he also didn't account for the fact that the US is paying for the military budget of Europe,
And that those "succesful" european countries have less than 1% of the US population
Which countries?
France? Germany? The UK?
Scandinavian countries
Norway's population is sitting at about 5.5 million
Sweden 7 I think
Finland have 5.5
Sweden is 10,1 million now it seems
fine, 2% 😛
For Sweden at least
yeah, but on average
Indeed
Iceland has only 300,000
Population density come with their own problems
so that drags the total down considerably 😛
i guess to be fair, he does still point out they are technically capitalist, but regulated for the people "but they regulate their markets democratically, in the public interest, and they have robust safety nets and keep their government accountable to people, not to corporate interests"
robust safety nets
Last year the dutch government voted to abolish referendums
Well, we ARE Capitalist and free market
and Netherlands is a haven for tax-evasion, cuz we only charge like 1% for large corporations, so they settle here and bring jobs
although, he answer is not entirely useless. By conflating cronyism with free markets (which really are not at all the same), and socialism with generally safety nets (if the country can afford it), he does answer the question in what i would say is kind of correct
but just because he shows where the misunderstandings are between these terms, which would probably lead to kids being socialist
i don't recall laborers in america being socialists though,
Its more the college-wealthy that do it
that and the typical freeloaders
at lot of kids are in college
I'm in india so forgive me for any tunnel vison. But from what i've seen, the actual working class don't really care for socialists or anarchists
because we were sold the lie that you need to go to college to get a job.
well, its not a lie tbh
no, its a lie
nah, you just not have to follow a shitty degree
