climate change? not a thing

2019-09-23 09:49:00 UTC

Hmmm

2019-09-23 11:55:29 UTC

Hmmm

2019-09-23 11:55:46 UTC

U know what real? property

2019-09-23 12:06:41 UTC

is it real though?

2019-09-23 12:06:46 UTC

can you really own anything?

2019-09-23 12:08:44 UTC

Climate change is real, just the amount of human involvement is questionable

2019-09-23 12:10:37 UTC

We are quite bad at actually measuring the climate in an abstract sense.

2019-09-23 12:11:02 UTC

Like some people say the oceans are rising but the data is contradictory

2019-09-23 12:31:16 UTC

Sure, and it's certainly subject to alarmism as well, but it is a natural process that has always occured in history. So the idea that were the *primary or only* cause is beyond hyperbolic, which is what you often hear about

2019-09-23 12:34:47 UTC

A lot of things point to the medieval warm period being much warmer than today

2019-09-23 12:34:53 UTC

The only thing that we could have influence over is the rate in which it's occuring and even that has very conflicting data. Not to say we shouldn't clean up our act, bring on nuclear, but it's kind of interesting how every single cataclysmic prediction here has been wrong

2019-09-23 12:34:59 UTC

There is beyond ample evidence that humans have far exceeded any natural climate change trends and have catapulted the planet into an increasingly dangerous situation (for us)

2019-09-23 12:35:03 UTC

Also possibly the Roman warming period

2019-09-23 12:35:21 UTC

people also underestimate just how much co2 comes from things like volcanos

2019-09-23 12:35:25 UTC

it's fucking massive

2019-09-23 12:35:28 UTC

more than like industry

2019-09-23 12:35:51 UTC

Yeah and scientists haven't considered all of this when presenting the arguments lol

2019-09-23 12:37:05 UTC

I can't imagine distrusting doctors and scientists to such an extent.

2019-09-23 12:37:05 UTC

GG @Dr.Cosby, you just advanced to level 29!

2019-09-23 12:38:30 UTC

Data in climate change studies have been found to be very inaccurate though, so I don't think it's wrong to simply question what exactly is happening.

2019-09-23 12:41:29 UTC

Questioning is great - it's what scientists do. It's their job, and often life's work and passion

2019-09-23 12:52:50 UTC

Right, so with that in mind the problem I have with people is that they treat this subject as if it's the end times or something, but again all of the predictions and at least many of the models have turned out to be wrong. It's being treated as if it's this set in stone, unquestionable thing despite the very obvious errors in work that have even been pointed out by other scientists.

2019-09-23 13:39:43 UTC

Yes
