The fact that the media reporting on a case happening can cause a case to face a mistrial is in and of itself a significant issue in the UK judicial system if you ask me..

Sure, Tommy probably broke whatever shit law resulted in his suspended sentence being reinstanted (and them some), but that doesn't make TR wrong, it makes the law wrong, and the UK govt should be ashamed of themselves

btw that guy in the stream the other day said we dont have jury selection in the UK - we do have jusry selection - the lawyers cant choose individual members but they can call for a new jury before the trial starts if they want

what would happen is, they pick 18 people from the "main room" where we are all put between cases... then when we get to the court room, they pick 12 of us, and the 6 go back to the main room
